
The entertainment industry in the Albanian -American community went on pause because of Covid-19 pandemic, but it is gradually beginning to start up again, as the battle with the pandemic is not over yet.
In an effort to prevent spreading the virus, many live concerts, traditional community festivals and other events were canceled, rescheduled, or pushed back.
However, good news for the Albanian community in New York is continuing to emerge, as in New York City such activities are allowed again. Many renowned Albanian singers have now resumed their concerts in Europe as well as in USA.
Among many event organizers, Alba Events NY Corp, is a newly established entity in the industry of live entertaining and concerts. The President of the company, Mr. Alban Kopshti, contacted by Sokol Paja, Editor of “Dielli”, the 110-year-old community newspaper, stated that he was full of hopes and stated: “After such a horrific pandemic where all live musical performances and concerts went to a halt, one would never think to take the risk and establish a new event organizer company like I did– but, I am optimistic he added, and people are eager to go back to normal”.
ALBA EVENTS NY CORP. is an independent and full-service concert like event organizer based in Levittown, New York. It is a newly established entity, but according to their President, Mr. Kopshti, they aim at becoming a leading entity in the nightlife hospitality industry and live musical events, and entertain thousands of Albanian-Americans residing across New York and the Tri-State area.
As a promoter in USA, Alba Events NY Corp have undertaken to present to the Albanian-American community some of the top artists of Albanian music industry. The list of renowned artists which Alba Events NY Corp, among many other includes: Ronela Hajati, singer, songwriter and dancer, who is the winner of 60th Edition of Albanian Song Festival in 2021, and she was designated to represent Albania for the Eurovision Songs Contest 2022. The singers Elgit Doda with his talented DJ Aber, Koki Surle, 2TONI, Donald and Romeo Veshaj the beloved twins to Albanians and Ardit Cuni, complete the list of the fisrt season of concerts planned to happen in the fall of this year.
Mr. Kopshti, told “Dielli” newspaper that he wants to host this year and the years to come, some of the most memorable live concerts for the Albanian Diaspora in New York city. He is a passionate new starter in the entertaining industry for the Albanian community in New York, and he believes that dedication will bear its fruits and Alba Events NY Corp will provide for the community the best live concerts.
Asked about the nature of the concerts, the President of Alba Events NY Corp. said: “Albanian modern and traditional songs and music, with humor intermezzos will raise the heart of the public”. Indeed, “Dielli” finds it very unique the combination of traditional and modern songs, and especially the performance in these live concerts of renowned singer and instrumentalist Koki Surle, playing “surle” the old traditional instrument, constitutes a novelty in Albanian live concerts.
Nothing can connect people and cultures better than music, and these concerts planned by Alba Events NY Corp, will be a bridge between countries, communities, and generations. They will enrich the cultural life of the Albanian diaspora in the USA and the US culture in its entirety.
