I value your collaborative approach to governing and your commitment to ensuring that our community has a seat at the table. In your previuos campaign, our meeting with you and Albanian community representatives at Patsy’s Pizzeria in East Harlem was a welcome opportunity to strengthen that relationship. I also want to thank you again for recognizing Kosovo Independence Day alongside our community.

That ceremony was especially meaningful because it marked the first time your office joined Vatra in hosting this commemoration. Your visit to the newly dedicated Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu Street in the Bronx remains a memorable occasion for our community. We appreciated your kind words about the Albanian traditions, contributions, and aspirations. Your recognition that immigrant communities help stengthen New York and embody the American dream resonated deeply with us.

VATRA is proud to support efforts that bring government and the Albanian-American community closer together. We look forward to continuing our work with you on behalf of VATRA, Albanian New Yorkers. Please accept my best wishes for continued success in your service to the people of New York.

Të gjendur në Romë për vizitën Ad Limina Apostolorum (një vizitë periodike që ipeshkvijtë e çdo vendi zhvillojnë në Vatikan, një herë në pesë vjet), barinjtë e Kishës Katolike në Shqipëri u pritën në audiencë private nga Ati i Shenjtë, Papa Leoni XIV.

Gjatë takimit, i cili zgjati më shumë se një orë, ipeshkvijtë informuan Papën mbi situatën dhe gjendjen në të cilën ndodhen Kisha dhe Shqipëria, duke paraqitur realitetin, sfidat dhe shqetësimet me të cilat përballen.

Në emër të ipeshkvijve dhe të mbarë Kishës Katolike në Shqipëri, Papën e përshëndeti Imzot Gjergj Meta, ipeshkëv i Rrëshenit dhe President i Konferencës Ipeshkvnore të Shqipërisë.

Barinjtë e Kishës sonë i dhuruan Atit të Shenjtë ikonën e Zojës së Këshillit të Mirë, Pajtore e Popullit Shqiptar, të punuar me mjeshtëri nga një artist shqiptar, duke përtërirë njëkohësisht ftesën për të vizituar vendin tonë.

Gjithashtu, nuk mungoi edhe libri kushtuar martirëve të Shqipërisë, i cili përmbledh historinë e martirizimit dhe të qëndresës së lavdishme të Kishës në Shqipëri. Dhuratat u plotësuan me një pëlhurë zadrimore, simbol karakteristik jo vetëm i kësaj treve, por edhe i dashurisë, përkushtimit dhe punës së përditshme të duarve të nënave tona shqiptare.

On November 3, Americans across the country will head to the polls for the 2026 midterm elections, determining the composition of the U.S. House of Representatives and part of the U.S. Senate, alongside important state and local elections.

For Albanian Americans, these elections are another opportunity to participate in the democratic process, engage with candidates and elected officials, and ensure that our community’s voices and concerns are heard.

The Albanian-American community has a proud history of contributing to American society, strengthening communities across the country, and fostering lasting ties between the United States and the Albanian people.

As a bipartisan advocacy organization, Albanians for America (AFA) encourages eligible voters to stay informed, participate in the electoral process, and remain engaged in civic life, regardless of political affiliation.

AACC Struga proudly hosted a wonderful Breast Cancer Awareness Event, bringing together over 130 amazing women from our community for an inspiring and meaningful afternoon!

A special thank you to Dr. Nora Gashi for sharing her valuable knowledge, answering questions from the ladies, and reminding us all about the importance of breast health and early detection.

We are also so grateful to Valbona Tolve, Nurse Practitioner, for her beautiful and informative speech, helping raise awareness and encouraging women to prioritize their health.

The morning was filled with positivity, laughter, Pilates, coffee, delicious drinks, and meaningful connections among the wonderful women of our community.

A big thank you to West End House Cafe for adding a special touch to our event with their delicious drinks, including a special matcha!
