UNITED STATES, KOSOVA AND SERBIA NOMINATED FOR NOBEL PEACE PRIZE-

The governments of the United States, Kosova and Serbia have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to secure a peace agreement between the two former Balkan war foes. In a Tweet post, Norwegian parliament member Magnus Jacobsson announced that he has nominated the three governments “for their joint work for peace and economic development, through the cooperation agreement signed in the White House. Trade and communications are important building blocks for peace”.

Last Friday, Kosova Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and Serbian President Vucic signed an economic normalization deal at the White House.

President Trump’s envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia talks, Richard Grenell retweeted Mr. Jacobsson’s post. He said that Trump was “nominated for a second Nobel Peace Prize for the historic Kosovo-Serbia agreement.”

On Wednesday, Norwegian lawmaker, Christian Tybring-Gjedde, nominated Trump for the 2021 Peace Prize for the president’s work “for a peace agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel which opens up for possible peace in the Middle East.”

Israel and the United Arab Emirates agreed last month to a historic deal normalizing relations and are scheduled to sign it at the White House on Sept. 15.
