2/28/2026 U.S.A – Albanian American Gastrointestinal Association (AAGA) zhvilloi takimin e saj të parë virtual me pjesëmarrjen e anëtarëve dhe bashkëpunëtorëve profesionalë, duke shënuar një hap të rëndësishëm në konsolidimin e strukturës dhe orientimit strategjik të shoqatës.
Gjatë mbledhjes u diskutuan vizioni, objektivat dhe planet afatshkurtra dhe afatgjata të AAGA-s, si dhe prioritetet në fushën e gastroenterologjisë. Diskutimet u fokusuan në situatën e kancerit kolorektal në SHBA dhe Shqipëri, nevojën për forcimin e programeve të depistimit dhe rritjen e ndërgjegjësimit publik.
Në përfundim, u vendos krijimi i një grupi pune për inicimin e një studimi epidemiologjik mbi kancerin kolorektal në Shqipëri, në bashkëpunim me institucionet përkatëse shëndetësore. AAGA rikonfirmon angazhimin e saj për bashkëpunim profesional, mentorim dhe avancimin e shëndetit publik.
The Albanian American Gastrointestinal Association (AAGA) held its first virtual meeting with the participation of its members and professional collaborators, marking an important milestone in the establishment and strategic direction of the organization.
During the meeting, AAGA’s vision, mission, and short-term and long-term strategic plans were formally discussed, along with key priorities in the field of gastroenterology. The discussion focused on the current landscape of colorectal cancer in the United States and Albania, emphasizing the need to strengthen screening programs and increase public awareness.
The meeting concluded with the decision to establish a working group to initiate an epidemiological study on colorectal cancer in Albania, in collaboration with relevant public health institutions. AAGA reaffirms its commitment to professional collaboration, mentorship, and the advancement of public health initiatives.
