Today Vatra President Dr. Elmi Berisha and Vatra Treasurer Besim Malota met with Daniel Serwer, Senior Fellow and Professor at Foreign Policy Institute, Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington DC to discuss topics related to US foreign policy, the impact of US elections in the Balkans and the region and the prospects of Kosova as a fully integrated country in the international community.
A respected authority on the Balkans with a career that spans decades, the Johns Hopkins Professor has author a few books including From War to Peace in the Balkans, the Middle East, and Ukraine.
Today’s meeting with Professor Serwer wraps up two intense days of high-level visits with government officials at the State Department and National Security Council, White House respectively Alexander Kasanof, the new Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Balkans and Media and Public Diplomacy at the European and Eurasian Affairs Bureau. and Kathleen Larkin, Director for the Balkans and Central Europe at National Security Council.
