The New York City law enforcement community and the American Albanian Law Enforcement Association (AALEA) are mourning the loss of NYPD Police Officer Dorian Kongoli, age 47, who proudly served at the World Trade Center Command.
Officer Kongoli began his career with the NYPD in 2007, dedicating over 16 years to protecting the citizens of New York City. Known for his courage, professionalism, and unwavering commitment, he was respected by his colleagues and admired by the community he served.
Those who worked closely with Officer Kongoli remember him as more than just a dedicated police officer. “Dorian had a heart as big as his courage,” said one colleague. “He was always there to support his team, mentor younger officers, and lend a hand to anyone in need.”
Beyond his career, Officer Kongoli was a loving husband, father, and friend. His family describes him as someone whose love, kindness, and generosity touched every aspect of their lives. He lived with the same dedication for his loved ones as he did for his city, leaving an enduring legacy of service, compassion, and integrity.
