Drita Siliqi, age 80, passed peacefully on August 5, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late Albanian intellectual: poet, literary critic and publisher, Drago Siliqi. Drita is survived by her two daughters and their families:  daughter Darina Siliqi Demiri, husband Arben Demiri, their two daughters Lora Demiri Carlessimo and Stella Demiri, her great-son-in-law Robert Carlessimo and two great-grandchildren, Adriano Carlessimo and Alessia Carlessimo; and daughter Laura Silqi Konda, husband Gjergj Konda and their two sons, Tedi Konda and Martin Konda. She is predeceased by her parents Athanas Shundi and Kaliroi Shundi and her sister Angelina Shundi. Drita dedicated her life to raising her two daughters by herself and to honoring her husband’s legacy. She was a professor, magazine editor, and translator. She edited and published her husband’s complete works. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 8, from 5 – 8 pm at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA.
