“Jetë të Riciklueshme” fitoi çmimin Dokumentari Më i Mirë në New York

Filmi i shkurtër “Jetë të Riciklueshme” me natyrë artistike portret – dokumentar realizuar nga Blerina Goce u shfaq në festivalin “Young Albanian Filmmakers Festival” në New York. Festivali, organizuar me sukses nga Bujar Alimani u mbajt në Manhattan, tek Producers Club në datat 29 nëntor – 1 dhjetor. Dokumentari cek temë sociale dhe rrezikun me të cilin përballet një familje dhe lagje në Shqipëri nga ndotja dhe mbeturinat në ambient.

“Shqipëria, është para një momenti të madh që hap sipas meje një epokë të re në historinë tonë, atë të europianizimit. Filmi dokumentar normalisht ka shumë për të reflektuar dhe adresuar këto probleme të zhvillimit. Shpresoj që institucionet e filmit në Shqipëri të zgjohen dhe të jenë në një hap me kinemanë shqiptare. Në fund të fundit shpresoj që të gjithë të kemi mundësinë dhe mbështetjen për të bërë filma qoftë dhe duke ngjallur debatin publik për çështje që shqetësojnë realisht shoqërinë tonë,” u shpreh Blerina Goce.

 “Shoqëria shqiptare  vitet e fundit po përballet me problemet mjedisore që sa vijnë e bëhen më të mprehta. Prej kohësh po kerkoja të gjeja mjetin më të mirë për të shprehur pikërisht disa shqetësime të miat dhe jo vetëm. Mundësia mu krijua me uorkshopin për kineastë të rinj të organizuar nga Akademia “Varaan” dhe Televizioni Francez Arte, në ambientet e Akademisë “Marubi” me mbështetjen e Bashkimit Evropian. Unë, pasi fitova konkursin dhe m’u miratua projekti, m’u desh të përballesha jo vetëm me vështirësitë e natyrshme të trajtimit të kësaj teme, por edhe me pengesa të shumta per të cilat mu desh t’i drejtohem për mbrojtje Zyrës së Të Drejtave të Autorit. Ndoshta kjo është rrjedha normale e filmave dokumentarë, që atakojnë interesa të caktura,” shtoi ajo.

Në natën finale, juria e përbërë nga Arta Kallaba (kryetare), Ermira Babamusta dhe Violeta Mirakaj shpalli listën fituese të filmave të përzgjedhur të festivalit. Filmi “Jetë të Riciklueshme” me regji të Blerina Goce fitoi çmimin “Best Documentary” (Dokumentari më i mirë).Filmi ishte një nga filmat më të pëlqyer dhe diskutuar nga pjesëmarrësit gjatë Q&A pas shfaqjes së filmave dhe u fol shumë për temën reale dhe të guximshme të trajtuar nga Blerina Goce.

“Së pari dua të falenderoj regjisorin Bujar Alimani dhe Alfred Tollja si nismëtarë të këtij aktiviteti, të cilëve ju ka pëlqyer filmi im që në momentin e parë që e kanë parë. Gjithashtu falenderoj dhe të gjithë selektorët që përzgjodhën për të qenë pjesë e festivalit. Pas një rruge të vështirë jam e lumtur që filmi më në fund pati premierën në Nju Jork dhe që në shfaqjen e tij të parë nderohet me çmimin Dokumentari më i mirë. Për më tepër më kënaq diskutimi i gjerë që ka hapur filmi midis bashkëkombësve tanë në SHBA.

Për mua është shumë e rëndësishme që një “erë e re” po fryn në kinemanë shqiptare dhe është për tu vlerësuar që filmat e autorëve shqiptarë tashmë mund të shfaqen në Nju Jork apo kudo tjetër në botë, madje edhe përpara se të kenë premierën në Shqipëri.  Më gëzon fakti që ndër filmat e paraqitur, shumica kishin si autorë regjisore femra, si dhe fakti që janë vlerësuar nga një juri femërore. Mendoj se edhe në Shqipëri po lind një gjeneratë e re kineastesh femra , ashtu si edhe në Kosovë, e që si këto të fundit, do të mund të sjellin një kinema tjetër, që do të vlerësohet edhe jashtë kufijve shqiptarë,” tha regjizorja Blerina Goce.

Vizionari Bujar Alimani sjell kinemanë shqiptare në New York

New York – Qëndra artistike botërore,  New Yorku gjatë muajit të Nëntorit ka përjetuar dhe njohur nga më afër kulturën shqiptare me dy festivale madhështore të filmit shqiptar në Amerikë: “Albanian Film Week” me themelues Mrika Krasniqi dhe Ariot Myrtaj ku u shfaqën filma të shkurtër, të gjatë dhe dokumentarë nga regjizorë shqiptarë nëpër botë; si dhe “Young Albanian Filmmakers Festival” themeluar nga Bujar Alimani, me prezantim të filmave me metrazh të shkurtër të regjizorëve të rinj studentorë nga akademitë përkatëse të Artit dhe Filmit në Shqipëri dhe Kosovë.

Festivali “Young Albanian Filmmakers Festival” po shfaqet nga 29 Nëntori – 1 dhjetor 2013 tek Producers Club Theatres, në New York me 19 filma pëzgjedhur nga 50 me juri Arta Kallaba, Ermira Babamusta dhe Violeta Mirakaj. Ekipi artistik përzgjedhës i filmave përfshin: Dhimitër Ismailaj, Luan Bexheti, Roland Uruci, Anisa Dema, Lola Luma, Gentjan Basha, Alfred Tollja, Entela Barci dhe Bujar Alimani. Krijimtaria artistike e regjizorëve të rinj vjen nga Akademitë përkatëse në Tiranë dhe Prishtinë, Universiteti i Arteve-Departamenti i Filmit Tiranë, Akademia e Filmit dhe Multimedias “Marubi” në Tiranë, Akademia e Arteve -Dega e Filmit Prishtinë.

“Tematika e filmave është vërtet një mozaik ngjyrash, subjektesh, idesh dhe ëndrrash të cilat këta të rinj i derdhin me sinqeritetin e shpirtit në ekranin e kinemasë,” tha organizatori Bujar Alimani.

Z. Bujar Alimani është një regjizor i suksesshëm, i cili njihet për “Amnesty”, “Gas” dhe “The Compass”. Filmi i tij “Amnesty” u konsiderua si një nga filmat e huaj më të mirë në garën prestigjioze të Oscarit (84th Academy Awards).

Bujar Alimani ka lindur në vitin 1969 në Patos, Fier, Shqipëri. Ai ka studiuar pikturë dhe regjizurë në Akademinë e Arteve të Bukura në Tiranë. Në vitin 1992 emigron për në Greqi. Ka punuar si asistent regjizor në disa filma të ndryshëm Grek. Ai jeton dhe punon në Greqi. Në vitin 2002 përfundoi filmin e parë të tij ,  KATOI (“The Kennel”), i cili ka marrë pjesë në festival të ndryshme ndërkombëtarë si ( Drama-Greece, Venice -Italy, La Ciotat -France, La shorts -Hollyëood/USA, Sidney -Australia, Tehran – Iran, Barcelona-Spain etc ). Dhe ka fituar çmimet : -Best Balkan Film Drama Film Festival 2002 -2th Aëard Auburn Int Film Fest, Sidney, Australia -The Best Albanian Film-1st Int Film Festival Tirana 2003.

Në vitin 2012 i madhi Bujar Alimani nisi projektin e tij ambicioz “Cine Fier 2012″, një cikël seminaresh mbi kinematografinë shqiptare dhe botërore.

“CINEFIER 2012 është një cikël seminaresh mbi kinematografinë që ka për qëllim grumbullimin e një kontingjenti të rinjsh me prirje drejt filmit dhe organizohet e mbështetet prej Bashkisë Fier. Ka një segment kohor dy muaj dhe ka nisur kryesisht me leksione teorike rreth kinematografisë e komponentëve të realizimit të një filmi, paralel e gjithë kjo me njohuri për historinë e kinematografisë botërore e asaj shqiptare, por duke fokusuar gjithçka drejt realizimit të tre filmave me metrazh të shkurtër me ide të vetë nxënësve që kanë shkuar drejt të bërit të skenarëve e që do të realizohen totalisht prej tyre. Prekja e të gjitha hallkave të bërjes së një filmi është thelbi i këtij cikli seminaresh,”  tha z. Bujar Alimani, në një intervistë me Albert Vataj.

Në vitin 2013 Z. Bujar Alimani solli kinematografinë e filmave të kineastëve të rinj shqiptar në një platformë më të gjerë botërore nëpërmjet festivalit “Young Albanian Filmmakers Festival” që u hap për herë të parë të premten me 29 nëntor 2013 tek Producers Club Theatres me pronarë Ernest dhe Alfred Tollja,. Festivali zgjat tre ditë me katër çmime fituese për filmat më të mirë.

Publiku shqiptar priti fuqishëm natën e hapjes së festivalit, me prezantuese aktoren e njohur Lola Luma, vijuar pas shfaqjes së filmave me një forum debati për kinematografinë shqiptare për publikur udhëhequr nga Lola Luma, Ermira Babamusta dhe Bujar Alimani. Nata e dytë e festivalit ishte po aq e fuqishme ku ndezi interes dhe debat nga publiku, udhëhequr nga Lola Luma, Violeta Mirakaj dhe Bujar Alimani. Me 1 dhjetor do jetë nata finale ku do ndahen çmimet fituese, shoqëruar me nje forum debati nga Arta Kallaba dhe Bujar Alimani për kinematografinë kosovare.

Vizionari Bujar Alimani po i jep një zë të rinjëve shqiptar si nga Shqipëria dhe Kosova dhe po krijon një urë ndërlidhëse të artit dhe kulturës shqiptare me atë amerikane dhe botërore. Ky realitet i ri mundësuar nga Bujar Alimani  është një hap i domosdoshëm për zhvillimin dhe ecurinë e kinemasë shqiptare brenda dhe jashtë vendit. Nëpërmjet festivalit Young Albanian Filmmmakers (YAFF) Bujar Alimani po sjell një eksperiencë mallëngjyese për emigrantët shqiptarë të New Yorkut, duke u ndjerë më afër vendlindjes me temat sociale dhe paraqitjen vizuale filmike trajtuar në filmat e studentëve të rinj. Filmat u përcollën me shumë interes dhe janë të një cilësie shumë të lartë, duke paraqitur krijimtarinë moderne dhe aktuale pasqyruar nga realiteti shqiptar në Shqipëri dhe Kosovë.

 

Paul Kurti and Amina Zhaman win AFW Top Prize for “Right to Love” movie

New York – Albanian-Canadian director Paul Kurti and writer, producer, actor Amina Zhaman won this year’s top prize at the official competition of Albanian Film Week International Film Festival (AFW), taking away the Best Feature Film Prize Audience Award for “Right to Love” film. Pavlina Mani, who also starred in this film walked off with the biggest prize “Lifetime Achievement Award”. The prizes were presented by the honorable Bekim Sejdiu, Consul from the Consulate General of the Republic of Kosovo in New York at the popular Producers Club Theatres on the final Awards Night, Thursday, November 14, 2013.

“I’d like to congratulate the organizers of the Albanian Film Week, especially Mrika Krasniqi and Ariot Myrtaj, for successfully braining the festival to New York City for yet another year. It is an important event that encourages and showcases the work of Albanian artists from all around the world.

We are thrilled that “Right to Love” received the Audience Award for Best Feature Film. We thank the New York audiences for supporting the film.

I’d like to congratulate all the cast and crew of the film, starting with the lead actors Amina Zhaman and Shpend Xani. Also, thank you to the producer Marina Bolotokova of Oriental Pearl LLC for making the film possible.

I am glad that, among other things, this film gave the opportunity to many Albanian American actors to work together and showcase their talents. Hopefully this is only the stepping stone for this kind of collaboration and that we will see much more successful work from this community in the future,” said award-winning director Paul Kurti.

Right to Love is written and produced by the multi-talented Amina Zhaman, who also starred as lead female. The film is directed by the great Paul Kurti, produced by the visionary Marina Bolotokova of Oriental Pearl LLC with the talented Gunthar Ross as director of photography. The film features a superb talented cast, Shpend Xani, lead actor as Tony, Luan Bexheti as Eduarto, Omar Chaparro as Henry and Pavlina Mani as Maviola. It is a success of the “Right to Love” team and director Paul Kurti and I am so happy viewers of Albanian Film Week in New York loved our movie so much!,” said award-winning Amina Zhaman, screenwriter, lead actress and producer of Right to Love.

During the Award Ceremony, Amina Zhaman said that this was a team success and thanked Paul Kurti for saying yes to the script and stated that “the success of this film is based on a great script, great cast, great cameraman work, great director and of course best producer Marina Bolotokova”. Amina Zhaman also thanked the sponsors of the film, Kanshobi Azhakhov and Sergey Doev, for believing in her and “gave a chance to show Albanian and Circassian cultures to the world and make it an international story and an internationally acclaimed film”.

Luan Bexheti, Praq Rado  and Bukurije Navon walked the Red Capet Gala Premiere as Celebrity Guest of Honor at the Albanian Film Week that took place on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the SVA Theatres. Shpend Xani, Luan Bexheti, Pavlina Mani, Ariot Myrtaj and Nereida Isufi were present at the final Awards Ceremony night that took place at Producers Club Theatres on November 14, 2013 and accepted the award along with Amina Zhaman for Right to Love movie, as winner of Audience Award for Best Feature Film at Albanian Film Week. The cast received a second honor for the legendary Pavlina Mani, awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Amina Zhaman also thanked Alfred Tollja, owner of Producers Club Theatres who introduced her to most of cast of Right to Love and showed great support and help during the movie production. Alfred Tollja said that he was very impressed with Amina and was happy to help and recommend talented Albanian actors for this film. Alfred wished Amina and the cast further success. Andrew Thomas, a great supporter of the film and friend of producer Amina Zhaman was also present and acknowledged by Amina at the final night of AFW for his continued support. Amina Zhaman also thanked Halil Mula, Qazim Doda for their immense support and Ermira Babamusta for “being a good will ambassador” for Albanian culture and bringing international awareness to the film from Canada, US, Kosovo, Macedonia, Prague, etc.

Sworn Virgins, an Albanian Social Construct: Perspectives from Uruci and Alika

 In the following interview director Roland Uruci and writer Blerta Alikaj talk about this practice “Sworn Virgins – Burrneshat” that has been an Albanian tradition since 1400s and stems from the Albanian culture. For centuries sworn virgins were viewed as respected figures, equally dignified as men. Director Uruci features this topic in his movie “The Superintendent” that tells the story of Shota who “makes the ultimate sacrifice and reveals the most precious secret to a mere stranger”.

In your movie “The superintendent” you bring up a topic that may be unheard of in the western world or not as popular “burrneshat” (sworn virgins). What interested you about this topic and why did you choose it for your movie/script?

Roland Uruçi: This has always been an interesting topic for me especially since it is a very unique phenomenon within the Balkans, especially northern Albania.

Blerta Alikaj: I started writing and entertain my friends with a horror story for Halloween, but it went in a different direction. I wanted the readers to think the story was going one way, then another, and be caught off guard. I also thought it would be interesting to show what a sworn virgin does when she comes face to face with the realization that she is in a different country, where her sacrifice is not necessary, understood or appreciated.

Tells us a little bit more about the origins of Burrneshat (Sworn Virgins)

Roland Uruçi: To me this choice has more of a social weight than the choice of sexual orientation.  It is living a life or the perception of a specific life as a gender.  It is accepted by others and once it is out there it is simply there.

How do you make the distinction between sworn virgins and sexual orientation? What are some of the principles that define both terms?

Roland Uruçi: Sexual orientation does not require a gender shift.  You can remain within your gender. With a Burrnesh there is a gender shift.  It has to be a shift for it to hold.  It is an oath to never look back to what you were.

Blerta Alikaj: The story of “The superintendent”  is not about sexual orientation at all, but about two women rediscovering parts of themselves again and sort of helping each-other. In a way it is about unlikely friendships. Sworn virgins are men for all intents and purposes. They are the way highland society deals with an unusual situation. Being called a man is a compliment. “This woman is shouldering such a hard responsibility, she is now a man, part of an exclusive club. She enjoys all male freedom as long as she keeps within the man frame and smothers her female side.”

A woman with a different sexual orientation who chooses to emulate men, or even change gender is at the other end of the spectrum. She has understood and accepted herself, and she is true to what she perceives to be her nature. She might look, dress and act the same as a sworn virgin, but for completely different purposes.

What is the social context behind “Burrneshat”. What drives the choice of a woman to become man? What are the causes for this phenomenon? What are some of the social pressures if any for women to become men?

Roland Uruçi:  My own perception of the root cause is the struggle of the Balkans through out history combined with a male dominant culture.  Wars, blood feuds and the like had the Balkans with men sometimes not reaching their 30s.  To keep that social norm going women needed to step into the perceived man’s role and this was what came out of that.

Blerta Alikaj: Most women are selfless, compassionate and caring, so if becoming a man is the only way to keep the family together, clothed, fed and alive, they do it. In the highlands, becoming a man was the only way to keep property in the family of women, escape an undesired marriage, or pursue a blood feud. Modern life is not much different. Any woman who rushes off to work in pants, square shoes and sans eyeliner every morning, feels the pressure.

Are there traces of Sworn Virgins today? Is it still practiced today and where?

Roland Uruçi: From what I understand there are still some in Northern Albanian populated areas including areas in Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosova.

How do you view the role of gender in Albanian society and how has the gender role shifted over the years? In what areas have you seen improvement? 

Roland Uruçi: I think gender roles have changed with more contact with other cultures. I know growing up there was a great deal of respect for women and that their opinions mattered.  Older women were sought out for their help in resolving issues within families.  There was pride in working together in making a family which meant both husband and wife worked hard together.  How this changed I think happened with a false sense of modernization where ideas of independence seem to be forgotten.  Can we have a Shota Galica today? I am not sure we could allow that even thinking that the role of women has improved.

Blerta Alikaj: It is a well-known fact that women have gained a lot of ground. There are prominent women in all fields of life, and many are able to bring food to the table and get recognized for that fact alone.

 

 

What does the concept of “Burrnesha” say about the gender role, rights and social equality?

Roland Uruçi:  There will always be struggles for equality between genders, sexual orientation, religion and class structure.  People are social creatures that tend to divide by nature.  I do feel that the concept of a Burrnesh allows for people to see things from a different point of view.  That someone can be seen as they wish to be seen without a negative connotation associated to that specific choice.

Blerta Alikaj: To me “The Superintendent” is a story of unlikely friendships and of self-discovery.

What is the status quo in Albanian society about Burrneshat? How is this concept of Sworn Virgins accepted in the Albanian culture, by the society and men?

Roland Uruçi: Again from my understanding they are accepted as equals to men.  They work jobs that are preferred by men and there is no real doubt of their ability to perform as their chosen gender.  Is that 100 percent… I feel that with a world culture gaining ground in Albanian culture this will change.

 

 

After the screening of “The Superintendant” what feedback did you receive from the American public? What interesting conversation came up regarding this topic?

Roland Uruçi:  When people saw our short film there were a sense awe in something so different.  It is a thinking persons film.  It brings a different point of view to gender that people have not thought about before.  One of the best compliments I received was that I respected the character in the story and the concept of the story itself.

How is this notion of Sworn Virgins understood in United States? How does it fit in with the social context, cultural context and the psychology of self/identity?

Roland Uruçi: It is not understood clearly with there still being an idea that it is really a choice of sexual orientation rather than a choice or perception and how one fits into a society.  It is a mental transformation that does not require a physical change.  I think here in the US it would be accepted more but, even here people find it more exotic than anything else.

What are some of the assumptions people make in United States about Sworn Virgins. How do those perceptions change after they see the movie “The Superintendent”?

Roland Uruçi: Here there is the concept of gender as always chained to sexuality and in Albanian culture gender is more connected to social standing.  It is is something that makes people think more than just accept.   That is what films and art should do for people.  It all should make people think and reevaluate what perception is as we as a world evolve into a global culture.

What’s next for you?

Roland Uruçi: Currently I am trying to get a feature film into production.  The film is based on the real experiences of my friend, Julian Biba, in Greece in the 1990’s.  This was during the Albanian Civil war and economic breakdown.  His desire to find a better life in Greece was met by a harsh experience that no one should have to live through and some did not.   The title is Paftuar (uninvited) and we hope to shoot in Albania in the next year.

While I am working on getting  Paftuar on its feet I am shooting another Albanian themed short that I plan to shoot in the next couple of months.  I do not want to talk about the subject matter but, I will say that it is very topical with its subject matter. (www.rolanduruci.com)

Darka madhështore “Jefferson-Jackson Dinner” është një traditë përvjetore e partisë Demokratike në Sh.B.A., emëruar pas dy presidentëve legjendarë Thomas Jefferson dhe Andrew Jackson. Këtë vit, darka u zhvillua në kryeqytetin e West Virginia, në Charleston ku figura e njohur dhe e shquar e komunitetit shqiptaro-amerikan Ermira Babamusta, ishte e ftuar nderi e senatorit Jay Rockefeller. Dinjitarë të lartë të qeverisë amerikane morën pjesë në darkën e famshme dhe fjalimet e hapjes u mbajtën nga Zëvëndës Presidenti i Sh.B.A-së Z. Joe Biden dhe senatori Joe Manchin.

Veprimtaria u mbajt në sallën Grand Hall të qendrës “Charleston Civic Center” të shtunën me 2 nëntor 2013, në Charleston, West Virginia (WV). Darkën e hapi z. Larry Puccino, kryetari i Komitetit Ekzekutiv Demokratik të West Virginia-s. Pas himnit kombëtar u prezantuan dinjitarët e lartë politikë të shtetit të WV si guvernatori Earl Ray Tomblin, prokurori i përgjithshëm Darrell McGraw, sekretarja e shtetit Natalie Tennant, senatori Joe Manchin, kongresmeni Nick Rahall II, etj.  Pasi fjalën e mori senatori Joe Manchin III dhe shkëmbeu përurimet e tij për daljen në pension senatorit Rockefller, Zv. Presidenti Joe Biden vijoi me fjalimin e tij si i ftuar kryesor dhe foli për veprimtarinë e senatorit Jay Rockefeller gjatë 50 viteve të tij në shërbim të Amerikës.
“Ishte një nder i madh të isha pranishëm me figura të larta të qeverisë amerikane, duke përfshirë dhe liderin e fuqishëm z. Joe Biden, për të cilin pata rastin të punoj në fushatën e tij dhe presidentit Obama në 2008 dhe 2012 dhe e kam ndjekur nga afër në seancat e Senatit amerikan gjatë punës time në Kongresin amerikan. Zv. Presidenti Z. Joe Biden të bën për vete me tregimet e tij dhe më befasoi me tregimet që rrëfeu rreth vizitës së tij dhe senatorit Jennings Randolp vite më parë në qytetin tim, Morgantown, ku po ndjek doktoraturën në universitetin West Virginia University,” shtoi Ermira Babamusta.
Në janar senatori Jay Rockefeller deklaroi se nuk do kërkojë termin e gjashtë në 2014 për Senat. Z. Biden ka shërbyer 24 vjet së bashku në Senat me z. Rockefeller dhe tha: “nuk ka as një burrë apo grua në Senat që nuk ka besim tek Jay Rockefeller. Asnjë!”. Tashmë 76 vjeç Z. Jay Rockefeller ka shërbyer 30 vjet në Senatin Amerikan dhe 50 pjet për WV, duke filluar si vullnetar i programit VISTA në Emmons, WV në vitin 1964.
“Unë dhe senatori Jay Rockefeller kemi të njëjtin pasion për t’i shërbyer publikut në të mirë komunitetit dhe popullit. Në 2008 punova për Kryqin e Kuq në bashkëpunim me Departamentin e Mbrojtjes dhe NYPD, policinë e New Yorkut, si pjesë e programit AmeriCorps Vista. Pasi trajnimet e VISTA-s i kryeva në Philadelfia, më spostuan në qytetin e New Yorkut për të ndihmuar qytetarët në përgaditje në raste emergjence,” deklaroi Ermira Babamusta.
Darka kishte mbi 1600 pjesëmarrës. Pas fjalimit të Zv. Presidentit Z. Joe Biden, Senatori Jay Rockefeller, gruaja e tij Sharon dhe vajza e tij Valerie folën për veprimtarinë dhe influencën e familjes legjendare Rockefeller.
“Kjo ishte një darkë historike tradiconale e partisë demokratike në Sh.B.A, dhe një nder i madh për mua të isha pranishëm dhe të përkrah senatorin Jay Rockefeller. Z. Rockefeller ka sjellë shumë ndryshime sidomos në shtein e W. Virginia: ka sjellë kompanitë Toyota dhe NGK, ka krijuar programin e inshurancës shëndetësore për fëmijë, ka financuar me miliona në edukim, dhe ka krijuar klinika për të moshuarit dhe veteranët e luftës. Edukimi, shëndetësia dhe veteranët janë disa nga programet që merrem nëpërmjet kompanisë time joqeveritare Aksioni për Paqe, Peace Action Foundation”, theksoi Ermira Babamusta.
Ermira Babamusta po vazhdon studimet në Universitetin prestigjioz të Harvardit, në Inteligjencë & Mbrojtje Sigurimi Kombëtar. Në të njëjtën kohë po përfundon disertacionin rreth Kosovës në universitetin e dytë që ajo ndjek te West Virginia University në degën Diplomaci dhe Shkenca Politike. Me 11 shtator 2013 Ermira Babamusta lançoi organizatën e saj “Peace Action Foundation” për të përkujtuar viktimat e tragjedisë 9/11 dhe për të promovuar paqe, drejtësi dhe vlera demokratike e humanitare (www.peaceactionfund.org). Gjithashtu Ermira Babamusta ka fituar nderin e lartë “Gruaja Ndërkombëtare e Kurajos” dhe “Gruaja Humanitare Ndërkombëtare” nga Kongresi Amerikan për kontributin e saj në qeverinë amerikane, diplomaci dhe humanizën në Kosovë dhe botë. Ermira është promovuese e kulturës shqiptare dhe krenohet me prejardhjen e saj shqiptare. Synon forcimin e lidhjeve shqiptaro-amerikane, një traditë 100-vjeçare e familjes Babamusta.
 “Shqipëria ndonëse shtet i vogël është i fuqishëm nga ana strategjike dhe rëndësia që ka në rajon. Vlerësoj lidhjet e forta Amerikë-Shqipëri-Kosovë dhe uroj që këto lidhje të forcohen më shumë në të ardhme. Si aleate e fortë dhe mike e lashtë e Shqiptarëve, Amerika është treguar gjithmonë fisnike për kombin dhe popullin shqiptar. Po ashtu dhe kombi shqiptar gjithmonë ka përkrahur miken e saj Amerikën ndër vite. Me rastin e pavarësisë në nëntor i uroj kombit tim të dashur Gëzuar Pavarësinë dhe i uroj shqiptarëve kudo që janë suksese. Kosovës i uroj suksese dhe zhvillim të mëtejshëm në udhëheqjen e re lokale me zgjedhjet e 3 nëntorit 2013, në rrugën e saj demokratike drejt inegrimit europian. Vlerësoj progresin në Kosovë dhe përkrahjen e aleates strategjike Mbretëria e Bashkuar, që ka dhënë kontributin e saj për fuqizimin e Kosovës. Falenderoj Amerikën dhe Anglinë për përkrahjen e tyre të vazhdueshme,” u shpreh Ermira Babamusta.
