President Nishani gave an address to the nation this morning, urging every citizen to vote. Below is a rough translation:
“Tomorrow we will vote. So we shall do what comes most naturally in a free society.
It is the most important political, civic and social action, that contains in itself the essence of democracy.
As such, this day and this act, require from all of us, consideration, seriousness and responsibility for everything that is related to these polls.
By voting we show responsibility for our destiny, we show that we know how to use our freedom, for ourselves and for others, for the present and the future.
Not voting is inexcusable and unjustifiable. Let’s not forget even for a moment the exceptional importance that tomorrow holds for jobs, problems and other prospects.
We need to appreciate the importance that tomorrow’s polls have for the relations of the country with the world, with which we share the freedom, prosperity, our current fate and the future.
We should all vote out of respect for the rule of law, especially the voting procedures, both us as voters, as well as the authorities charged with the implementation of those procedures.
On election day we must be careful and act out of civic duty.
We should all vote in confidence that others who vote for different parties, vote differently because they think differently, but inwardly we are all the same and the difference in our choices for party or individuals does not divides us, but it is that difference that unites us.
We should properly understand the main concept: that the parties and ideologies for which we vote are many, but Albania and its future are one.
Let’s enable more young people to vote, especially first time voters, so that we have a beautiful day tomorrow.
Let’s all go and vote.”

Të dashur dhe të nderuar bashkëqytetarë,
Nesër do të votojmë.
Pra do të kryejmë aktin më të natyrshëm në një shoqëri të lirë.
Që është veprimi politik, qytetar, shoqëror, më i rëndësishëm, që përmban në vetvete, thelbin e Demokracisë.
Si të tillë, kjo ditë dhe ky akt, kërkojnë prej të gjithëve ne, përqendrim, seriozitet, përgjegjshmëri, për gjithçka që ka lidhje me këto votime.
Të votosh provon se di të jesh i përgjegjshëm për fatet e tua, di ta përdorësh Lirinë, për vete dhe për të tjerët, për të tashmen dhe të ardhmen.
Të mos votosh, është pasivitet i pafalshëm që nuk justifikohet nga asgjë.
Të mos harrojmë për asnjë çast rëndësinë e jashtëzakonshme që ka dita e nesërme lidhur me punët, problemet, perspektivat e brendshme.
Të vlerësojmë si duhet rëndësinë që votimet e nesërme kanë lidhur me marrëdhëniet tejet të rëndësishme të vendit me botën, me të cilat liria, begatia, fatet tona të tashme dhe të ardhshme janë ngushtësisht të lidhura.
Të votojmë duke respektuar në përgjithësi rendin, veçanërisht procedurat e votimit, vetë ne si zgjedhës së pari, pastaj autoritetet e ngarkuara me zbatimin e atyre procedurave.
Të bëjmë kujdes për një sjellje sa më qytetare gjatë ditës së votimit.
Të votojmë me bindjen se të tjerët që votojnë parti të ndryshme, votojnë ndryshe sepse mendojnë në mënyra të ndryshme, por së brendshmi jemi të gjithë të njëjtë dhe dallimi se për cilën parti apo individ votojmë, nuk është dallim që na ndan, por dallim që na bashkon.
Të kuptojmë si duhet gjënë kryesore; Se partitë dhe ideologjitë për të cilat votojmë janë disa, por Shqipëria dhe e ardhmja e saj janë një.
Të mundësojmë sa më tepër të rinj të votojnë, posaçërisht ata që votojnë për herë të parë…që dita e nesërme të jetë një ditë e bukur.
