On January 19, 2025, at the Allendale Steakhouse in Allendale, NJ, owned by the Veseli brothers, the Albanian American Civic League Board held its first meeting in 2025, where they discussed many important issues for the advancement of the interests of the Republic of Kosova and the Albanian nation in Washington, DC.
It was proposed that Agim Aliçkaj, current member of the AACL Board of Directors, be appointed to the position of Executive Director.
New situations created in the homeland and in the United States require the Civic League to become more active in the Albanian American community for the purpose of mobilizing and increasing lobbying activity in Washington. Agim’s reputation and contacts will help make the League’s activities very successful.
Agim Aliçkaj, born and raised in Deçan, Kosova, graduated with a Master’s degree from the University of Zagreb. He is the Albanian American owner of Kosovatours International, a tourist agency specializing in travel to Albanian lands.
Agim joined the AACL more than 34 years ago, when in August 1990 he and his brothers in Oslo organized a very successful trip to Norway for the Civic League’s delegation. Since then, he has made a lasting and significant contribution to the AACL’s successful role in helping the Albanian national cause in Washington with leaders of the League, legendary human rights activists Joseph DioGuardi and Shirley Cloyes DioGuardi.
For several years he has been very active in organizing events with important senators and congressmen, some at his home in Bronxville, New York. He is also very active on social media (X, FB and others). His thoughtful articles have earned him great respect in the Albanian world.
The proposal for Agim Aliçkaj to assume the position of Executive Director of the Albanian American Civic League was unanimously approved by all Board members present at the meeting.
Joe and Shirley DioGuardi will continue playing their roles as lobbyists for the Albanian American Civic League in Washington, DC.

EMËRIMI I AGIM ALIÇKAJ SI DREJTOR EKZEKUTIV I LIGËS QYTETARE SHQIPTARO AMERIKANE
Më 19 janar 2025, në Steakhouse Allendale në Allendale, NJ, në pronësi të vëllezërve Veseli, Bordi i Ligës Qytetare Shqiptaro-Amerikane mbajti mbledhjen e parë në vitin 2025, ku u diskutua për shumë çështje të rëndësishme për avancimin e interesave të Republikës së Kosovës dhe kombin shqiptar në Uashington, DC.
U propozua që Agim Aliçkaj, anëtar aktual i Bordit të Drejtorëve të AACL-së, të emërohet në postin e Drejtorit Ekzekutiv.
Situatat e reja të krijuara në atdhe dhe në SHBA kërkojnë që Liga Qytetare të bëhet më aktive në komunitetin shqiptaro-amerikan me qëllim të mobilizimit dhe rritjes së aktivitetit lobues në Uashington. Reputacioni dhe kontaktet e Agimit do të ndihmojnë që aktivitetet e Ligës të jenë shumë të suksesshme.
Agim Aliçkaj, i lindur dhe rritur në Deçan të Kosovës, ka kryer magjistraturën në Universitetin e Zagrebit. Ai është pronar shqiptaro-amerikan i Kosovatours International, një agjenci turistike e specializuar për udhëtime në trojet shqiptare.
Agimi iu bashkua LQShA më shumë se 34 vjet më parë, kur në gusht të vitit 1990 ai dhe vëllezërit e tij në Oslo organizuan një udhëtim shumë të suksesshëm në Norvegji për delegacionin e Ligës Qytetare. Që atëherë, ai ka dhënë një kontribut të qëndrueshëm dhe të rëndësishëm në rolin e suksesshëm të LQShA duke ndihmuar çështjen kombëtare shqiptare në Uashington së bashku me drejtuesit e Ligës, aktivistët legjendar të të drejtave të njeriut Joseph DioGuardi dhe Shirley Cloyes DioGuardi.
Për shumë vite ai ka qenë shumë aktiv në organizimin e ngjarjeve me senatorë dhe kongresistë të rëndësishëm, disa në shtëpinë e tij në Bronxville, Nju Jork. Ai është shumë aktiv edhe në rrjetet sociale (X, FB e të tjera). Artikujt e tij të mençura i kanë dhënë atij një respekt të madh në botën shqiptare.
Propozimi që Agim Aliçkaj të marrë postin e Drejtorit Ekzekutiv të Ligës Qytetare Shqiptaro-Amerikane u miratua unanimisht nga të gjithë anëtarët e Bordit të pranishëm në mbledhje. Joe dhe Shirley DioGuardi do të vazhdojnë të luajnë rolet e tyre si lobistë për Ligën Qytetare Shqiptaro-Amerikane në Uashington, DC.
