On November 29, 2025, Dr. Evia Nano, MD, warmly welcomed close family and friends to a thoughtfully curated, intimate book signing at her office located on the 10th floor of 65 West 36th Street, New York, NY 10018. The evening’s centerpiece was author Dearta Logu Fusaro, honored as the guest of the night, who shared her debut book, The Illyrian Way. This remarkable book chronicles an awe-inspiring journey through the Western Balkans, where Dearta and her husband, Justin, trekked 435 miles on foot, weaving together unforgettable experiences, breathtaking photographs, treasured local recipes and remedies, and meticulously crafted trail maps spanning Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Albania.
During the event, Dearta captivated her audience with heartfelt reading and an engaging Q&A session. Attendees of various generations and professions enthusiastically participated, sparking vibrant dialogue and connecting deeply with the author’s narrative of belonging and embracing open dialogue with neighboring countries. The gathering not only celebrated the book’s first shipment but also fostered a powerful sense of inspiration among guests, uniting everyone in a collective yearning for a modern Balkan Renaissance —a testament to the enduring spirit, culture, people, and beauty of the region. Dr. Nano concluded the night with a warm sentiment about forums as such being an opportunity to spark a new way of celebrating culture and getting involved in future multi-media Balkan collaborations.
