MYSAFIRË NGA KOSOVA, VIZITORË NË VATËR

Prof. Dr. Emin Kabashi, gazetar e studiues i njohur dhe Dr. Afërdita Dervishi vizituan Vatrën- /

Gjatë ditës së sotme, e Martë 21 Janar 2020, pata nderin që të prisja në selinë e Vatrës mysafirë të nderuar nga Kosova.Të shoqëruar nga zotërinjtë Elez Osmani, Esat Osmani dhe Arif Osmani, gjatë ditës së sotme Vatrën e vizituan: Studiuesi i njohur Prof. Dr. Emin Kabashi, autor i shumë veprave studimore dhe letrare, Profesoresha e Universitetit të Prishtinës Afërdita Dervishi(PhD).

Mysafirëve u prezantova historinë e Vatrës përgjatë rrugëtimit 108 vjecar si dhe historikun e  Gazetës Dielli në prag të 111 vjetorit të botimit.

Po ashtu mysafirët vizituan edhe bibliotekën dhe arkivin e Vatrës, shfletuan koleksionet e Diellit, u ndalën në ekspozitën fotografike etj.

Mysafirët e nderuar shkruan në librin e vizitorëve për mbresat e kësaj vizite. Prof. Dr. Emin Kabashi, ndër të tjera shkroi: Të ndodhesh në mjediset e Vatrës është njësoj si të përshkosh një rrugë më shumë se 100 vjecare të ecjes së historisë shqiptare për ruajtjen e tërësisë të trojeve Kombëtare.

Ndërsa Dr. Afërdita Dervishi shkroi: Sot me 21 Janar 2020 vizitova “Vatrën” dhe dëgjova prezantimin e historisë më shumë se 100 vjecare të Vatrës dhe Diellit. Ndjehem shumë e nderuar që preka nga afër historinë e Vatrës përmes fotografive dhe dokumentave, u njoha me punën e madhe, sakrificat dhe përkushtimin e  shqiptarëve të Amerikës, vecanërisht vatranëve. Bashkimi i tyre pa dallim feje e krahine në shërbim të Shqipërisë dhe mbarë Kombit, janë kyci i qëndresës. Më entuziazmoi vecanërisht figura e Faik Konicës, ku mësova përmes rrëfimit të editorit, gjëra që s’i ksiha dëgjuar më parë. Po ashtu më befasoi përvjetori i festimeve të 60 vjetorit të Diellit-, ku spikat bashkimi i dy diasporave asaj të Amerikës me në krye Vatrën me Arbëreshët e Italisë. Kjo më la pmbresa të pashlyeshme që do t’i ndjej përjetë! Faleminderit Vatrës cfarë ka bërë për Kombin Shqiptar!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS PERTAINING TO VATRA’S COMMISSION OF CONSTITUTIONAL GUARANTEES /

Q: When was VATRA’s Constitution and By-Laws adopted?

A: VATRA’s Constitution was adopted in 1912. It was recognized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on June 13 of the same year.    

Q: Was there a time when the need for amendments was discussed and what prompted them?

A: There have been discussions of upgrades or revising amendments in a document that is over 100 years old. A project was drafted in the 1980s but it did not go to the Convention. The movement to increase membership and review the time-limitations for new members in the late 2000s led to the appointment of a large working group. It submitted its proposals to the 2014 Convention where some changes were made but not completed. VATRA’s Convention of 2017 appointed the Commission of Constitutional Guarantees tasked with completing the changes, drafting amendments and presiding over grievances.

Q: Was there a precedent for appointing such a body? 

A: Although there have been several disagreements and disputes in VATRA’s history, in the 2017 Convention there were allegations that the assembly was conducting work in violation of VATRA’s Constitution. There is a general consensus that the 2017 Convention lacked serious preparation and organization on the part of the presidency resulting in numerous oversights. One of them was the confirmation of the Commission of Constitutional Guarantees and its objective as well as the monitoring of its activity.

Q: How many members does it have? What are the required qualifications? What are the main tasks of the Commission of Constitutional Guarantees?

A: The Commission consists of three members with legal expertise and well respected by the community. Bashkim Musabelliu – Chairman, Mehmet Kadrijaj and Kujtim Porja – Members. The objectives include monitoring the activity of the structures of the organization, addressing disputes rising among the members, branches, and the organization, as well as preparing draft amendments to update the legislation and reflect the changes in the organization. Draft proposals are to be submitted for approval in the upcoming Convention. The work of the Commission has been covered by Dielli as per Headquarters’ request.          

Q. How does the Constitution safeguard the Federation?

A: The Constitution protects the Federation by assigning the duties, rights and responsibilities of its members, branches and officials. It regulates and determines the rules that guide the election of VATRA’s officials and structures. Its By-Laws uphold civility and compliance by members of the moral code in all activities of the organization.

Q: What are some of the areas that have come into question in the course of VATRA’s long history? 

A. The Federation has had its ups and downs, yet it has aimed to conduct its activity in line with its purpose and program as defined in the opening articles of the Constitution:  1 – To promote among Albanians in America, and through them among the Albanians in Albania, the spirit of helping one another and of loving their nationality, through conferences and publications. 2 – To promote among them the sense of honor and love for the laws and institutions of the United States of America, and to strengthen the bond of friendship between American citizens and Albanians. 3 – To help in the learning of the English and Albanian language and to spread education and moral doctrines among Albanians in America. 4 – To help morally for the amelioration of the members of the Federation and to protect, as much as it can, Albanian immigrants and workers.

Q. Presently, what does a VATRA member stand for?

A. In the current situation, members of VATRA need to recognize and follow the By-Laws regarding membership dues and duties whether in the center or branches in order to have representation in the Convention of January 19, 2020.

Q. What is the cause of the current predicament of the Federation?

A. Arbitrary actions of a few members of VATRA and one branch in particular have set off a parallel body calling for a Convention. Ironically, this unconstitutional group claims that the move stems from the violations in the 2017 assembly concerning the Constitution.  It is worth-noting that grievances have been neglected on the part of the presidency and the accumulation of discontent resulted in the current state. 

Q. What is the right path to overcome the current situation?

A. When rules are followed by everyone and the same standards are applied consistently, the organization runs well and disputes are resolved with civility.      

Vatra, nje institucion i veçante kombetar!

Me interesim e pak shqetesim i kam percjellur polemikat, diskutimet qe jane duke u zhvilluar rreth Vatres, ecurive dhe punes se saj, pakenaqesive te disa anetareve apo grupimeve te ndryshme brenda Vatres. Pa marre para syshe kush ka apo nuk ka te drejte eshte mire qe ne organet drejtuese te Vatres te diskutohet haptas per keto pakenaqesi, shqetesime, sepse Vatra nuk eshte çfaredo organizate, shoqate – ajo eshtre diçka e vecante qe dallon nga te gjitha shoqatat, institucionet tjera shqiptare. Eshte nje thesar kombetar qe duhet mbajtur me kujdes e dashuri.

Vatra eshte nje emer i dashur, i nderuar, eshte nje institucion kombetar, eshte sinonim, eshte identiteti i bashkesise shqiptare te Amerikes. Emri i saj eshte i lidhur ngusht me disa nga fytyrat me te ndritura te kombit tone, si: Noli, Konica, motrat Qiriazi e shume figura te tjera. Nder vite ajo luajti nje rol te rendesishem, thene me mire, te pazevendesueshem per ruajtjen e gjuhes, traditave tona, identitetit tone kombetar ketu ne Amerike, si dhe ne ngritjen e ndergjegjes kombetare dhe zgjimin kombetar ne pergjithesi. Thene shkurt, ishte edhe shtet, atehere kur nuk kishte shtet shqiptar. Rreth Vatres dhe ne gjirin e Vatres shqiptaret u brumosen me idete atdhetare dhe nder vite mbajten gjalle frymen dhe qenjen shqiptare. Nuk ka nevoje te zgjatem me teper ketu per rolin historik te Vatres, sepse meritat e saj dihen fare mire gati nga çdo shqiptar qe ndonjehere eshte ulur ne bankat shkollore. Me ndryshimin e rrethanave historike ndoshta nderron edhe menyra e punes, natyra e veprimit, por misioni gjithmone mbetet i njejte: ne sherbim te çeshtjeve madhore te kombit.

Vatra u krijua ne kohen kur shqiptaret nuk kishin parti politike, por kombi, Shqiperia ishte partia e shqiptarit dhe shqiptarizmi ishte ideologjia e tij. Kete tradite, kete fryme atdhetare Vatra duhet ta vazhdoje edhe sot. Shqiptaret edhe sot kane nevoje per nje Vater te organizuar mire ku mund dhe duhet te mblidhen te gjitha mendjet e ndritura te kombit tone dhe me devotshmeri e perkushtim kembengules u qasen çeshtjeve madhore te kombit tone. Kete rol, asnje organizate, asnje institucion nuk mund ta luaje me mire se Vatra, sepse ajo ka me shume se nje shekull ne sherbim te kombit dhe gezon adhurimin e besimin e shumices se shqiptareve. Emri Vatra ngerthen ne vete diçka te vecante, diçka magjike – eshte ajo ura e forte, ura e vetme shpirterore qe e lidh periudhen e ndritur te Rilindjes sone Kombetare me kohen e sotme.

Shoqatat si Vatra qe karakterizohen me nje program, platforme, angazhim, vizion kombetar, i perballojne me sukses te gjitha sfidat, dallget e stuhishme te historise dhe dramave njerezore, gezojne jetegjatesi e perjetesi, ndersa shoqatat qe ndjekin politiken e dites, shuhen shume shpejt, sikur vete dita qe shuhet me perendimin e diellit. Kjo eshte formula e jetegjatesise se Vatres, por eshte edhe per faktin se Vatra u themelua, zhvilloi dhe ende po e vazhdon veprimtarine e saj ne nje shtet demokratik si Amerika, shtet qe nuk te pengon, por te ndihmon per ruajtjen e gjuhes, traditave kombetare dhe qendron larg intrigave e prapaskenave meskine. Vatra beri shume per shqiptaret dhe Shqiperine – tani ne duhet te bejme me shume per Vatren qe gjithmone ta mbaje te ndezur zjarrin e atdhedashurise, te rrezatoje vlera te larta kombetare e njerezore dhe ta vazhdoje me sukses misionin e saj fisnik kombetar, duke e mbajtur gjithmone lart e me lart flamurin e shenjte te shqiptarizmit. 

Prandaj, anetaret, e posaçerisht drejtuesit e saj duhet ta kuptojne me thelle rolin e tyre e te mos leshohen ne zenka meskine qe nuk i sherbejne askujt, por vetem mund ta zbehin emrin e Vatres. Nese thirremi ne emrin e Nolit, Konices e gjithe atyre fytyrave te ndritura qe e themeluan dhe e ngriten Vatren ne piedestalin e vlerave tona kombetare, atehere edhe duhet ta ndjekim shembullin, rrugen e tyre, sado i veshtire qofte aj rrugetim. Per fat te keq, ne dy shtetet shqiptare, Shqiperi e Kosove, dhe gjithe hapesiren shqiptare ende nuk kemi institucione shteterore, akademike, politike e shoqerore qe jane duke funksionuar si duhet. Ketu del ne pah roli i Vatres si nje organizate qe mund te ndikoje pozitivisht si nje ze i fuqishem i arsyes, pjekurise dhe i pajtimit kombetar. Kur degjojme per ndonje trazire, per ndonje çeshtje te nderlikuar, per ndonje problem ne shkalle kombetare, menjehere e pyesim veten dhe njeri – tjetrin: Po çka thote, çfare qendrimi mban Vatra per kete? Tani natyrshem shtrohet pyetje se, si mund te nderhyje Vatra ne rrethana te tilla kur ajo nuk mund t’i rregulloje punet e veta?  Kjo do te jete fjalia e pare qe do te degjohet nga gojet e atyre qe nuk ia duan te miren dhe as nuk duan t’ia shohin syte Vatres. Te mbizoteroje gjakftohesia, arsyeja dhe keto çeshtje te zgjidhen sa me shpejte ne frymen e mirekuptimit, harmonise vellazerore, respektit te ndersjelle dhe gjithmone duke i lene anash interesat e ngushta vetjake (personale), unin (egon), inatin, ambicjet e semura per te bere emer ne emer, kurriz te Vatres. Te respektohet, te zbatohet pike per pike Kanunorja apo Statuti, çdo çeshtje te paraqitet dhe te diskutohet, shqyrtohet haptas me organet perkatese drejtuese te Vatres, ne menyre qe te mos kete nevoje as per Komisionin e Tetorit dhe te asnje muaji tjeter te vitit.

Besoj se te gjithe pajtohemi qe Vatra eshte nje institucion i veçante kombetar, atehere edhe ne duhet te sillemi ne menyre te veçante me te, te ngritemi mbi nivel dhe jo te biem ne nivele te uleta te ligjerimit publik. Bashkesia shqiptaro – amerikane dhe gjithe kombi yne ende kane nevoje per nje Vater te forte, aktive dhe te organizuar mire. Keto po i shkruaj si nje perkrahes i Vatres, nje shqiptar qe ka deshire ta shohe kombin, vendin e tij te perparuar dhe shqiptaret gjithmone te bashkuar. Kam marre pjese ne veprimtarite e rendesishme te Vatres, bashkepunoj me gazeten Dielli. Veprimtarine time atdhetare, kulturore e zhvilloj ne Filadelfia (ku jetoj) si anetar i shoqates “Bijte e Shqipes”. Se shpejti do behem edhe anetar i Vatres – me shpirt e zemer jam qe nga rinia ime e hershme ne Kosove.
