Me siguri ky vendim asht marr ne Uashington prej Departementit të Shtetit. Deshton premtimi para votimeve i Rames qe qeveria shqiptare do te vazhdonte marrëdhanjet të mira me Ameriken. Denimi i vizave për Ilir Meten asht nji deshtim diplomatik pa krahasim ne kohen “demokratike”
Hajde “Rilindje”, hajde!
Letra origjinal por pa emrat e akuzuar
This letter was sent to Ambassador Ries and other
U.S. government officials via email on Feb. 12 . The original letter included actual names that have been omitted here for reasons of confidentiality. There is another part to this story concerning human trafficking that is yet to be revealed. This story is far from over, but for now I can say that the Embassy has not issued a denial and further inquiries are being made through investigative offices that have jurisdiction over the Embassy.

Ambassador Marci Ries
U.S. Embassy
Tirana, Albania
Ambassador Ries,
It has been brought to my attention that certain current and former employees of the U.S. Embassy in Tirana are alleged to have been members of Albania’s communist party. It is my understanding that in order to qualify for employment in the Embassy these individuals were required to complete Department of State form OMB NO. 1405-0029. Section 35 of this form asks the question: Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the Communist Party or any communist or fascist organization?
It is also my understanding that the individuals listed below may have been members of Albania’s communist party and may have answered “no” in section 35 of the above described form. If this is true, then these individuals made material misrepresentations on an employment application with an agency of the U.S. government and if so, I assume this constitutes grounds for termination. These individuals are [The original letter included actual names that have been omitted here for reasons of confidentiality]:

It is further my understanding that Embassy employees ************, ************, ************ and possibly others were direct subordinates of Kadri Hasbiu when he served as Minister of the Interior under communist dictator Enver Hoxha. In that position Hasbiu was also head of Albania’s dreaded sigurimi secret police operation that acted as the intelligence and enforcement arm for Hoxha’s brutal regime. As is well known, most, if not all, of the people who worked under Hasbiu were considered “sigurimi” and served as the nucleus of the intelligence apparatus for Albania’s communist party. What is disturbing about this situation is that if this is information is true, it is possible members of the former communist government may have embedded spies in the U.S. Embassy. This should be of major concern because it could mean that individuals who maintain close links to the host government of Albania (Prime Minister Sali Berisha was a member of the communist party) are serving as an intelligence network within your Embassy. Furthermore, this could also explain persistent reports that former Prime Minister Fatos Nano had sources of intelligence within the Embassy because of the fact he was a key member of the former communist regime and he maintained closed ties with “ex-sigurimi”.
As a citizen of the United States of America, I demand that you investigate this matter and determine if any of the information contained in this correspondence has any basis in fact. Your immediate attention and response is respectfully requested.
As you are aware, tampering with any files of the U.S. government could be construed as obstruction of justice.
Please be advised that on January 19, 2007, FBI Director Robert Mueller as well as several members of Congress were notified about this matter via certified mail.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Gary Q. Kokalari
