-Pas më pak se 1 muaji, në 24 Mars 1999 filloi fushata ajrore e NATO-s kundër caqeve ushtarake serbe në Kosovë, Serbi dhe Mal të Zi, pas së cilës nga mëngjesi i 12 Qershorit 1999 forcat paqeruajtëse e shpëtimtare të NATO-s nisën të hynin në Kosovë/

PRISHTINË, 25 Shkurt 2019/ Para 20 viteve, konferenca ndërkombëtare për Kosovën – Konferenca e Rambujesë, e nisur në 6 Shkurt 1999, u ndërpre në 23 Shkurt pa rezultate përfundimtare, ndërsa vazhdimi i saj u thirr për datën 15 Mars në Paris.
Periudha në mes të dy takimeve të Rambujesë dhe Parisit u shfrytëzua nga regjimi okupues e kriminal i Beogradit për të dërguar në Kosovë trupa dhe pajisje të mëdha ushtarake shtesë. Numri i forcave serbe, në kulmin e luftës, sipas vlerësimeve të kohës, mund të ketë arritur në 130.000.
Edhe në zonën kufitare me Shqipërinë kishte forca të mëdha ushtarake serbe dhe minim të rrugës në rajonin e Prizrenit drejt Kukësit, nga Zhuri deri në Vermicë, raportoja, mes tjerash, në 22 e 23 Shkurt 1999, kur nisi të dalë gazeta Rilindja në Prishtinë në kohë lufte, ndërsa në 26 Shkurt raportoja për sulme e luftime në jug të Kosovës, afër kufirit me Maqedoninë…
Presidentin historik të Kosovës, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, pas kthimit nga Rambujeja, e kam pyetur lidhur me këto zhvillime të rrezikshme të përqëndrimeve të forcave të mëdha serbe në Kosovë dhe ai në atë konferencë shtypi në 26 Shkurt 1999 kërkonte vendosjen e NATO-s në Kosovë.

Në mes të marsit përfaqësuesit e Kosovës nënshkruan Marrëveshjen e Rambujesë/Parisit për Kosovën, ndërsa Beogradi – pala serbe refuzoi ta nënshkruajë. Ishte hapur rruga për ndërhyrjen ushtarake të NATO-s për Kosovën…

[13] Rugova says Belgrade’s military offensive in Kosova – catastrophic
PRISHTINE, Feb 26 – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reported that president of Kosova Ibrahim Rugova told a news conference on Friday that the military offensive of Belgrade against Kosova would be catastrophic and would damage the peace accord.
Asked by the ATA correspondent in Prishtina on present reinforcement of Serb forces and possibility for a new offensive in Kosova, Rugova replied that “this is done on purpose and there exists the risk that the peace accord on Kosova can be violated and bring about a catastrophe and a new tragedy for Kosova.”
Rugova praised the concern of the international community over the peace in Kosova and especially the reactions of the United States and the European Community.
“We are interested in achieving a peace agreement as soon as possible and deploying NATO in Kosova,” Rugova said.
He added: “Such a step would create a guarantee for all the Kosova citizens and the Balkan region.”
Rugova urged Belgrade to stop immediately the offensive and abandon plans for military pressure on the free and democratic will of the Kosova people. /pta/ak/

[17] Serb forces attack south Kosova, people flee to Macedonia
PRISHTINE, Feb 26 – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reported that Serb forces had attacked early on Friday the south areas of Kosova near the border with Macedonia.
The attack started at 8.00. a.m. against Pustenik and Rezhance villages forcing the population of both Albanian villages and the surrounding area to flee the area to Macedonia.
Shootings were audible but there was no report on casualties, sources from Hani i Elezit said adding that the OSCE verifying mission in Kosova had been informed on the attack. /pta/ak/

[33] KLA defeats Serb forces in fighting in south of Kosove
PRISHTINE, Feb.26 (ata) – ATA correspondent in Prishtine Behlul Jashari reports: The Kosove Liberation Army resisted today attacks by Serb forces which started this morning in the southern regions of Kosove, near the border with Macedonia.
Village Pustenik of Hani i Elezit was hit with tanks, armoured vehicles and heavy artillery pieces and in the fightings which continued until afternoon, according to Radio Kosova e Lire, two members of the Serb forces were killed while only one soldier was slightly wounded from the KLA. According to the same source, the KLA positions were defended while the Serb forces had to withdrew at about 2 p.m. /lh/xh/

[09] Road Prizeren-Kukes mined
PRISHTINE, Feb. 23 – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports: According to some information, the road Prizeren-Kukes is mined. In a part of this road between the village of Zhur and Vermice in the vicinity of the Albanian border, the Yugoslavia army has opened some holes which are doubted to be filled with mines. A wire network, guarded by the Serb forces, is installed from that direction up to the Serb police station. Sources from Prizeren report that the road is blocked in all directions.
The OSCE spokesman in Prizeren, Sajmon Gerry, has confirmed that the troops of Yugoslav army have made new reinforcements in vicinity of Zhur village and the Serb forces are on high level of readiness in the region. /LA/A.A/

[12] OSCE verifiers banned to enter Kosova-Albania border area
PRISHTINE, Feb 22 – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reported that the verifiers of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) were expelled from the border area between Kosova and Albania.
Serbian forces have ordered the closure of the OSCE mission office in Zhur village and verifiers have been banned to enter the five km border area, sources from Prizren said.
OSCE sources and those of the Human Rights Council in Prizren said that there was an unusual Yugoslav military build-up in the border region.
The Vermice village near Albania is under total control of the Yugoslav army, which have also blocked the road from Prizren to Kukes. /la/ak/

[14] Rilindja appears in Prishtina after nine-year ban
PRISHTINE, Feb 22 – ATA correspondent reported that the Albanian daily Rilindja was published on Monday in Prishtina after nine-year ban imposed by the Serb regime.
The daily was published despite the fact that the ban was still in place. It was printed in a private printing house because the Rilindja publishing house and all its property in Kosova worth 400 million marks were occupied and seized by the Belgrade regime.
The preparation for the newspaper was done under extremely difficult conditions outside the building of the Press Palace where the Serb police had banned the work of its employers since last year when Bujku was also banned. /la/ak/
