[01] COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN PRISTINA AND TIRANA UNIVERSITIES

The Pristina and Tirana Universities have signed an agreement of cooperation, according to the Pristina University information service..
The agreement envisages cooperation in various fields as well as mutual aid in the exchange of university teachers and students, all-level consultations, participation in joint conferences, exchange of school texts, students’ meetings and other activities.
The agreement was signed on July 26 in Struga during a meeting of the two university delegations, headed by Pristina University dean Prof.Dr. Ejup Statovci and Tirana University dean Prof. Dr. Nestor Tereska.
The meeting was part of the talks held one month ago in Tirana about a comprehensive cooperation between the two universities.
Statovci thanked the Tirana University for the aid provided during many years for the Pristina University.
On this occasion the Tirana University was presented with the new emblem and flag of the Pristina University.
On its way back, at the Kosova-Macedonia border, the Pristina University delegation was detained for more than one hour by the Macedonian police. It confiscated the video cassette with aspects from the two delegations’ meeting and the ceremony of signing the agreement. p.ta/lm/Z/

[16] Thousands of refugees from Junik headed for Albania
PRISHTINE, July 30 – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reported that Junik and the region around it are under siege and incessant attacks of the Serb forces for the fourth day.
All efforts are under way to evacuate the civil population and the Kosova Liberation Army (KLA) is determinably responding to the attacks and defending residents.
Over 1.000 civilians from Junik and the surrounding areas which are on their way to Albania are expected to cross the border today (Thursday). Other 2.000 are treading paths, mountains of Bjeshke te Namuna, without food and protection under the Serb artillery fire.
The KLA has caused increasing loss to Serb forces during the firefights in Junik area, sources on the ground said.
The Serb commander of the border area and some militaries have been killed. Four tanks and other military equipment have been destroyed.
Sources said that fighting has continued in Strelic i Eperm, Carrabreg i Poshtem, Prejlep and Rastavice villages. shdha/das/ak/

[09] Greeting parade of KFOR forces in Pristine
PRISHTINE, July 30 – ATA correspondent, Behlul Jashari, reports: KFOR forces organized a hailing parade on Friday morning.
The parade was opened with the demonstrative parachute parade of parachutist troops of British battalion dislocated in Kosove capital, Pristine. Afterwards, 800 troops of British parachutist troops marched in the main boulevard in Kosove where they were applauded by thousands of Kosove citizens.
This is a greeting parade, is said in a press release of the headquarter of KFOR Peace-keeping forces.
British Premier, Tony Blair is expected to hold a visit today in Prishtine. /pas/A.A/
