Të dashur dhe të nderuar antarë të Bordit Ekzekutiv të Vatrës!/

Të dashur anëtarë të Vatrës!

Lexova me kënaqësi deklaratën e Bordit Ekzekutiv të Federatës Pan – Shqiptare të Amerikës, Vatra, në lidhje me shpalljen time, persona non grata, nga Sekretari i Shteteve të Bashkuara të Amerikës. 

Për këtë ju falenderoj të gjithëve emër për emër.

Një masë e tillë e aplikuar ndaj familjes time dhe ndaj meje përsonalisht, më ka lënduar shumë. Kjo përveç tjerash edhe se ndjehesha dhe ndjehem luftëtari më i paepur kundër komunizmit në Shqipëri, i asaj ideologjie dhe sistemi kriminal të cilin Ronald Regan e ka quajtur “Perandoria e të Keqes”. Po ashtu ndjehem edhe miku më i madh i Juaji dhe i atdheut tuaj të dytë – ShBA – së.

Jam ndjerë dhe ndihem edhe sot si promotori i hapjes së Shqipërisë ndaj perëndimit dhe veçanërisht ndaj Shteteve të Bashkuara të Amerikës, si mikja më e madhe e kombit shqiptar. 

Që në ditët e para të angazhimit tim politik – pro – amerikan dhe pro – perëndimor, kam ndjerë afërsinë e Vatrës, si organizata shqiptaro – amerikane më e njohur dhe më aktive në mbrojtjen e të drejtave të popullit shqiptar në Ballkan. Ju, si patriotë të vërtetë, keni influencuar me mjetet tuaja  legale, mbi politikën e jashtme të shtetit amerikan ndaj popullit tonë. Unë e ndjej se principet dhe qëndrimet e Vatrës janë edhe sot e kësaj dite të njëjta që në kohën e themelimit të saj.

Shpalljen time persona ‘non grata’ e konsideroj si një veprim aksidental, të ndërmarrë tërësisht pa bazë, pa fakte dhe pa prova. Nuk ka ekzistuar kurrë   dhe nuk ekziston asnjë  akuzë e adresuar ndaj meje, bashkeshortes dhe fëmijëve të mi prej ndonjë entiteti ligjor as në Shqipëri dhe as në botë. Gjithçka në atë vendim është bazuar në   trillime të sajuara prej atyre që në vitet 1990 flaknin flamurin amerikan si leckë ndërsa sot hiqen si dashnorët më të mëdhenj të vendit tuaj.

Ata që kanë trilluar fallcitete të tilla, çdo gjë mund të jenë por jo miq të Shqipërisë dhe shqiptarëve. Ata janë armiq të demokracisë dhe lirisë për të cilën ne luftuam së bashku me ju vatranë të dashur, që në ditët e fundit të dhjetorit 1990 e deri më sot. Kapja e shtetit sot shkon në drejtim krejt të kundërt me atë që Ju ëndërronit dhe ne punuam për Shqipërinë.

Fatkeqësisht, tërë ata që në atë kohë ishin kundërshtarët më të egër të Amerikës, e kanë ndërruar lëkurën e ujkut dhe në një mënyrë iluzicioniste dhe të paqartë për Amerikën e vërtetë, janë maskuar dhe shiten si miq të Amerikës. Ndërkohë, njerëzit tuaj, të persektuar për gjysëm shekulli vetëm se e donin Amerikën, dhe ju kishin juve atje, sot janë thjeshtë të shokuar, të tëhuajtur në vendin e tyre, të pashpresë dhe të paqartë me qëndrimet toleruese që mbahen nga ata që më kanë shpallur mua ‘non grata’ ndaj keqbërjeve të falangave post – komuniste, në Shqipërinë e sotme.

Dua t’ju siguroj, të dashur vatranë, patritotë, shqiptaro – amerikanë, se nuk do t’ju zhgënjej kurrë! Ju siguroj se shpallja ime persona ‘non grata’, nuk e zbeh besimin tim të patundur te miqësia që kam personalisht, familjarisht dhe politikisht me Amerikën dhe me Juve. Ndërkohë ju siguroj që nuk do t’ju zhgënjej në besimin që ju keni se asnjë nga hamendjet që janë dhënë në atë arësyetim të thatë dhe atë vendim absurd, nuk qëndrojnë.

Unë i sfidoj trilluesit e një vendimi të tillë me mbrojtjen ligjore, me nderin dhe dinjitetin tim dhe të familjes time, me krenarinë e një patrioti shqiptar, dhe të një dashamirësi të patundur ndaj Shteteve të Bashkuara të Amerikës.

Dear and honored members of the Executive Board of Vatra!

Dear members of Vatra!

I read with satisfaction the statement of the Executive Board of the Pan-Albanians Federation of America, Vatra, regarding the designation of me, as a persona ‘non grata’, by the US Secretary of State.

I do thank you all, the name by name, for your understanding!

Such a measure has severely hurt my family and me, personally. 

Furthermore, among other things, such a decision did hurt me, as I did feel and still feel myself the fiercest and invincible fighter against communism in Albania, an ideology, and a criminal system which Ronald Reagan once called “The Evil Empire”. At the same time, I feel that I am a great friend to you and your second home – the United States.

Moreover, I have felt and still feel today as a promoter of Albania’s openness toward the west and further down to the United States of America, considering the latter the greatest friend of the Albanian nation.

From the very first days of my pro-American and pro-Western political involvement, I felt the proximity of Vatra, as one of the more active Albanian American organizations, in defending the rights of the Albanian people in the Balkans. You, as true patriots, have influenced with your legal means, the foreign policy of the American state towards our nation. I do assert that the principles of Vatra are still today the same as those of the days when it was founded. 

I do consider the decision to declare me and my family as persona ‘non grata’ as an accidental action, taken completely unfounded, without facts, and any evidence. There has never been and there is no accusation/indictment submitted towards me, to my wife, or my children by any legal entity, either in Albania or in the world. Everything in that decision is based on fabrications invented by those who in the 1990s did throw the American flag like a rag while today they show themselves, hypocritically, as the “biggest lovers” of your country, the USA.

Those who have fabricated such forgeries can be anything but friends of Albania and Albanians. They are the enemies of democracy and freedom for which we fought together with you dear members of Vatra, from the last days of December 1990 until today. The capture of the state today goes in the opposite direction to what you dreamed of and we worked for Albania.

Unfortunately, all those who, at the time were America’s staunchest opponents have disguised their wolf’s skin and in an illusory and vague way about true America, sell themselves like the friends of America. Meantime, your people, who were persecuted for half a century only because they loved America and because you were there, in the USA, today they are simply shocked, alienated from their country, hopeless and ambiguous about the tolerant attitudes held by those who have declared me ‘non grata’ to the wrongdoings of the post-communist phalanx in power in today’s Albania.

I want to assure you, my dear members of Vatra, the patriots, the Albanian-Americans: I will never disappoint you!

I assure you that the designation of me as persona ‘non grata’ does not diminish my firm belief in the friendship that I have personally together with my family towards the United States.

In the meantime, I assure you that I will not disappoint you in the belief that none of the allegations given in that dry reasoning and in that absurd decision, do stand.

I challenge the fabricators of such a decision with legal protection, with the honor and dignity of myself and my family, with the pride of an Albanian patriot, and an unwavering benevolence towards the United States of America.
