President Jahjaga met with the President of Portugal, Anibal Cavaco Silva/
The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, within the activities on the occasion of the General Assembly of the UN, met today in New York with the President of the Republic of Portugal, Mr. Anibal Cavaco Silva.
President Jahjaga and President Cavaco Silva discussed about the deepening of cooperation between the two countries, the European perspective of Kosovo and the international consolidation process of Kosovo.
President Jahjaga thanked President Cavaco Silva for the continuous support of Portugal for the European perspective of Kosovo and the processes through which Kosovo is passing. President Jahjaga informed the Portuguese President about Kosovo’s achievements and the commitment of the institutions to implement all the reforms on its path of European integration and requested the further support of Portugal for the European perspective of Kosovo and the process of visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo.
President Jahjaga also requested the help of Portugal in Kosovo’s efforts for the international recognition of the independence of the Republic of Kosovo and the process of membership in international organizations, including UNESCO.
President Cavaco Silva stressed that Portugal remains a steadfast supporter of Kosovo in the European integration process, the as fast as possible signing of the SAA and visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo. He also assured President Jahjaga that Portugal supports Kosovo’s membership in international organizations and in UNESCO and will support the efforts for international recognition of the independence with those countries with which it has good bilateral relations, in particular in Latin America.

Nju Jork, 30 shtator 2015/ Presidentja e Republikës së Kosovës, Atifete Jahjaga, në kuadër të aktiviteteve me rastin e Asamblesë së Përgjithshme të OKB-së, u takua sot në Nju Jork me Presidentin e Republikës së Portugalisë, Anibal Cavaco Silva.
Presidentja Jahjaga dhe Presidenti Cavaco Silva biseduan për thellimin e bashkëpunimit mes dy shteteve, perspektivën evropiane të Kosovës dhe procesin e konsolidimit ndërkombëtar të Kosovës.
Presidentja Jahjaga falënderoi Presidentin Cavaco Silva për mbështetjen e vazhdueshme të Portugalisë për perspektivën evropiane të Kosovës dhe proceset nëpër të cilat po kalon Kosova. Presidentja Jahjaga e njoftoi Presidentin portugez me të arriturat e Kosovës dhe përkushtimin e institucioneve për të përmbushur të gjitha reformat në rrugën e saj të integrimit evropian dhe kërkoi vazhdimin e përkrahjes së Portugalisë për perspektivën evropiane të Kosovës dhe procesin e liberalizimit të vizave për qytetarët e Kosovës.
Presidentja Jahjaga gjithashtu kërkoi ndihmën e Portugalisë në përpjekjet e Kosovës për njohjen ndërkombëtare të pavarësisë së Republikës së Kosovës dhe për procesin e anëtarësimit në organizata ndërkombëtare, përfshirë UNESCO-n.
Presidenti Cavaco Silva theksoi se Portugalia mbetet një përkrahëse e palëkundur e Kosovës në procesin e integrimit evropian, nënshkrimit sa më të shpejtë të MSA-së dhe liberalizimit të vizave për qytetarët e Kosovës. Ai po ashtu siguroi Presidenten Jahjaga se Portugalia mbështet anëtarësimin e Kosovës në organizata ndërkombëtare dhe në UNESCO dhe do të mbështesë përpjekjet për njohjen ndërkombëtare të pavarësisë me ato vende me të cilat gëzon marrëdhënie të mira bilaterale, në veçanti në Amerikën Latine./b.j/
