February 8th, 2018-Today’s initiative to present in front this Parliament a reflective Draft-Resolution regarding the unforgivable diplomatic mishap in relation to the inexplicable joining of Albania’s stand and position against the interests and the statement of United States President Donald Trump about the move of his country’s Embassy to Jerusalem, is a necessary and just step in the direction of our historical and diplomatic relations with the most important partner of the strategic interests of Albania and Albanians all over our region and wherever they live.

As a matter of fact, we should not and would neither have reached this point and nor should have been part of this anti-American vote, because President Trump’s decision on this issue represents the sovereign position and stand of the American people and its elected institutions as well: the United States Congress, the Senate, the Administration and the President.

The arguments used by this ruling majority to try and conceal the true purpose lurking behind this position and its voting, neither stand nor can convince anyone at all, much less the American Administration. The argument used that Albania followed and complied with the position of the European Union as part of the obligation faced in the framework of the European integration process is only a political fraud and deception. The European Union associated or candidate countries have only one obligation in the framework of the Union’s foreign and security policy: Keeping in mind that this position is unique for all participating and member countries, we must have be obliged (but not arguably justified) to stand firm and maintain the Prime Minister’s irresponsible attitude. In the cases when the European Union does not have a unique approach, then any given country is free to take and hold firm to its very own position. This means that Edi Rama and his crime-captured ruling majority faced no threat or forced obligation from the European partners to vote against United States interests, and further more to cast a ballot voting that was not mandatory at all. The Constitution of the Republic of Albania, flagrantly violated by Edi Rama has breached clearly defines the role and obligation faced by Albania, as the mother country, to uphold, to protect, to promote and to develop the interests of Albanians everywhere around the world.

Therefore honorable colleagues, we have clearly heard the reactions of Albanians in Albania. We have clearly and loudly heard what they think and what they kind of position they have taken in front of Edi Rama’s brazing action.

We also clearly listened to the stand of the Kosova’s Albanians and its institutions.

The stand of the Macedonia’s Albanians was also clearly heard by us.Also the position of Albanians in Montenegro is clearly heard by our ears.

Yet again we heard more than clear and loud the views of Albanians in Serbia.

I believe that during these recent days we have heard even more clearly our Diaspora in the United States, the very same Diaspora to whom Edi Rama appeals patriotically to support Albania, but to whom he lowered their head in front of their American compatriots through this move he made lately.

Our Prime Minister who does not miss a chance and opportunity to show and demonstrate us how knowledgeable and erudite he is, going as far as to compare himself and referring to Ismail Qemali, Faik Konitza, Fan Noli and other patriots, is no other than a self-delusional fool suffering from historical, political and diplomatic dementia, keeping in mind that before he dared to stand against the United States and President Trump, taking a shameful and obnoxious stance during the electoral campaign in the United States, he should have recalled and bring to mind how much the Albanians owe to the United States, to the American people and to leaders of that great country.

Edi Rama should have recalled and remembered President Wilson and his platform at the Peace Conference, where he sanctioned the Albanian people’s right to self-determination at a time when Albania was so close to being partitioned and divided among the Balkan powers of that time.

Edi Rama should have recalled President Clinton’s stand and the liberation of Kosova from occupation which took place at the eve of when half of the Albanian nation trunk faced extermination.

Edi Rama should have remembered President Bush and Albania’s accession and membership into the largest alliance of freedom and democracy in the world: in NATO.

That is why Edi Rama’s position and stand has been conditioned by his tutors and not at all by the national interest.

There is an English expression: “A friend in need, is a friend indeed” meaning that “a friend who comes to our rescue in times of need is a true friend.”

The United States has proven to be such a true friend to Albania and to the Albanian people as well.

Albania and the Albanians have always been grateful and have tried all the times to demonstrate this gratitude.
If President Clinton would have waited to receive permission by the United Nations in order to stop and put to an end the extermination of Albanians in Kosova, no Albanian would live in Kosova to this very day. If President Bush, who proclaimed in Tirana Kosova’s independence, would have had been waiting for the unified position of the European Union, to this day we would not have had an Independent Kosova, let alone to celebrate its 10th anniversary of Independence. Not only did the United States lead with determination the liberating attack, the campaign, the rescue and the freeing of Kosova; not only did they proclaim its Independence and were the first to recognize it, but they also firmly led the whole Kosova’s international recognition campaign, and just one sole day before the United Nations’ vote, the United States Ambassador to the UN proudly stated that her husband is an Albanian and that the United States is trying to enable Kosova being recognized by all UN member countries and that it will continue to do so until the entire process would come to an end successfully. The December 21st vote was the darkest page in the history of this government’s foreign policy. That was neither a vote in favor of the United Nations’ universal principles, about which Edi Rama falsely cries over so often, nor an adoring ballot to the European Union, but it was a vote against the United States of America. This is a vote against the nationwide Albanian interests, as well as many other anti-national actions that Rama has undertaken and committed against Albania, such as the project of transforming Albania into a Drug Republic, or the current project of transforming Albania into the most dangerous European waste deposing place: into a waste dumping cemetery, or even gravely the urging and supportive project for the exodus of Albanian intellectuals and young people from Albania. You will vote against this resolution proposed by the opposition and indeed this is your second ballot cast against the United States and Albania as well.
