Në një komunikatë për shtyp, Komuniteti Shqiptaro-Amerikan në Illinois (AACI), ka uruar Kosovën për zgjedhjene Presidentit të ri të Shtetit, z.Hashim Thaci. Në komunikatë theksohet forcimi i lidhjeve me partnerët ndërkombëtar, vecanërisht me aleatin e sprovuar Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës.

Komuniteti Shqiptaro-Amerikan në Illinois (AACI), i përfaqësuar nga shqiptarët e të gjitha trevave, uron institucionet e Kosovës për zgjedhjen e Presidentit të ri të shtetit. Me këtë rast, z. Hashim Thaçi-t i urojmë punë të mbarë dhe sukses në ngritjen e mirëqenies njerëzore, forcimin e lidhjeve me aleatet e kombit shqiptar, në veçanti Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikes,dhe realizimin e vullnetit të popullit shqiptar në Kosovë.
Njekohësishtë, Komuniteti Shqiptaro-Amerikan nëIllinois shpreh brengosjen me gjendjen e tanishme politike dhe ekonomike në Kosovë. Derisa perkrahim fuqishem dialogun mes pozites dhe opozites permes institucioneve të dala nga vota e popullit, kundershtojmë plotësishtë marrëveshjet për Asociacionin e Komunave Serbe dhe demarkacionin me Malin e Zi. Komuniteti Shqiptaro-Amerikan në Illinois vlerëson këto mareveshje si të dëmshme kundrejt interesave të shqiptarëve në Kosovë, në
shperputhje me vullnetin e shprehur përmes 200,000 nënshkrimeve, në kundershtim me kushtetuten e Kosovës, dhe si të tilla në dëm edhe të interesave tona kombëtare.
Komuniteti Shqiptaro-Amerikan në Illinois është gjithmonë i gatshëm të jap ndihmen e tij për proceset demokratike dhe realizimin e aspiratave të kombit shqiptar, si në vendlindje ashtu edhe në diasporë.

Albanian-American Community of Illinois (AACI), represented by Albanians of all homeland regions, congratulates Kosova on the election of the new president. We wish Mr. Hashim Thaçi success in improving the welfare of all citizens, strengthening of relations with all our allies, especially the United States of America, and accomplishing the aspirations of the Majority-Albanians in Kosova.
At the same time, Albanian-American Community of Illinois expresses its deep concerns with the current political and economic situation in Kosova. While we support the dialog between the ruling parties and the opposition through the democratically elected institutions, we completely reject last year’s
agreements regarding the Municipal Association for Serbs and Border Demarcation with Montenegro. We regard these agreements as harmful in relation with the interests of Albanians in Kosova, against the will of the people expressed through the 200,000 signatures, in violation of Kosova’s constitution, and, hence, detrimental to all Albanians as a nation.
Albanian-American Community of Illinois is always ready and willing to offer its help in improving democratic processes in Kosova and fulfilling the aspirations of all Albanians in the homeland and
abroad.
