On April 22, 2013 Vatra members from the Washington D.C. Branch held a meeting at the Albanian owned and operated Euro Bistro and Grille in Alexandria, VA. The purpose of the meeting was primarily to elect two delegates to participate in voting at the upcoming general assembly. The meeting attendees discussed ideas for increasing Vatra membership, expanding Dielli subscriptions, and sponsoring culturally rich events. The participants committed to contributing articles and other material to Dielli’s editor in order to better inform readers of the branch’s activities. In addition, the DC Branch welcomed several new Vatra members including the Euro Bistro’s proprietor. The new members had the opportunity to learn about the DC Branch’s most recent accomplishments including its historic inauguration. It was decided that the branch could communicate most effectively via email. At the close of the meeting, the members agreed to meet after the general assembly to convey the results of the elections and the implications of new amendments.
