Clinton widens lead over Trump amid convention boost: poll

A major US poll shows Democrat Hillary Clinton currently leading presidential rival Donald Trump by eight points. Clinton’s support has risen after a strong convention – and numerous Trump gaffes.

A major US poll shows Democrat Hillary Clinton currently leading presidential rival Donald Trump by eight points. Clinton’s support has risen after a strong convention – and numerous Trump gaffes.

Hillary Clinton, the Democrat candidate for the US White House, currently leads Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump 50 to 42 percent, according to results from a Washington Post-ABC News telephone poll released on Sunday.

The poll showed that Clinton’s lead has grown from four to eight points following her nominating convention, a larger boost than Trump received from the Republican convention, which revealed a party split by divisions over the choice of candidate.

Clinton would also seem to have profited by several recent controversies surrounding Trump, notably his denigration of the family of a Muslim-American soldier killed in Iraq.

Trump strongly criticized the family of Army Capt. Humayun Khan after the soldier’s father took the stage at the Democratic convention to rebuke the Republican candidate for views he has expressed on Muslims, including the proposition to stop any Muslim entering the United States.

The poll showed most respondents disapproving of Trump’s handling of the matter, with even 61 percent of Republicans saying he had behaved incorrectly.

Strong divide

The poll showed a strong educational divide in US society between Clinton and Trump supporters. Trump receives 25 percent more backing among whites without college degrees, while Clinton has a six-point lead among whites with college degrees, according to the results.

However, white men with college degrees still favor Trump by a high single-digit margin, while he trails by almost 20 points among white women with degrees – a likely reflection of the seemingly misogynist remarks the real-estate mogul has made during his campaign.

However, the survey showed that overall satisfaction with both candidates is low: Nearly six in 10 registered voters said they were unhappy with both Clinton and Trump.

The candidates will have their next major chance to influence voters at three presidential debates scheduled for late September and October, shortly before the presidential elections scheduled for November 8.

Duket sikur asgjë nuk e pengon emërimin e Donald Trumpin si kandidat presidencial të republikanëve. Shumë vetë në fushatën parazgjedhore i dhanë mbështetjen biznesmenit, dhe delegatët janë të detyruar t’u përmbahen rezultateve zgjedhore. 2: Nëse në komision nuk ka një shumicë të kërkuar për një vendim të tillë, por së paku 25% e anëtarëve të komisionit votojnë pro lirimit të delegatëve nga vota parazgjedhore, atëherë ky vendim dërgohet në kongresin e republikanëve. Atje 2472 të deleguarit diskutojnë dhe votojnë për hapjen e zgjedhjeve. Atëherë është e sigurtë një betejë e ashpër.

3: Tingëllon më e thjeshtë se është. Çdo shtet federal ka rregulloret e veta, të cilat duhet t’i respektojnë të deleguarit, dhe në këtë rast ata do të jepnin votën për Trump edhe nëse partia ua lë të lirë zgjedhjen. Të tjerë duhet t’iu përmbahen që në raundin e parë rezultateve të zgjedhjeve paraprake. Një formë e komplikuar, që shumica e amerikanëve nuk e kuptojnë.

4: Sipas rregullores së deritanishme 95% e delegatëve janë të detyruar të japin votën për kandidatin që ka fituar në qarkun zgjedhor në zgjedhjet paraprake. Duhet ditur që të deleguarit thirren në procedura shumë të vështira dhe shpesh i binden establishmentit politik. E ky i fundit nuk e përtyp dot një Donald Trump si kandidat.

5: Pyetjet kryesore: Ka një alternativë tjetër? Do të ishin deputetët të gatshëm për të rrezikuar një revoltë në patinë e tyre për të penguar Donald Trump? Sigurisht përkrahësit e Trump do të ndjeheshin të tallur, nëse pas procesesh parazgjedhore votojnë për një kandidat, të cilin partia e mënjanon në minutën e fundit.

6: Në kongres bashkohen 2472 delegatë brenda një spektri që fillon me kundërshtarët e bindur të Trumpit deri tek përkrahësit fanatikë të tij. Si do të sillen politikanët e rinj, sa do të ndikojnë dëshirat për t’u ngjitur në karrierë në vendimin e tyre? Apo ata do të votojnë kundër Trumpit, pa pasur parasysh disavantazhet, sepse ai dëmton partinë në sytë e tyre?

7: Në fund mbetet se si dhe kur do të zhdavaritet ky tmerr për repulikanët? Nëse Trump nuk zgjidhet si kandidat? Apo nëse një kandidat me emrin Donald Trump do ta përçante deri në shpërbërje partinë?

The Board of Directors of The Pan-Albanian Federation of America VATRA (THE HEARTH), held a meeting today at the organization’s headquarters in New York, where its discussion focused primarily on a reported statement by the Prime Minster of Albania that “Donald Trump is a threat to America and, no doubt, a threat to Albanian-American ties.” According to The New York Times and other media sources, Mr. Rama was speaking at a talk show Thursday evening on Kosovo’s private television channel Klan Kosova, when he said that Trump’s election would bring “major damage” to the U.S. and would also be “a real threat to Albanian-American ties”.

The Prime Minister’s statement was unanimously condemned by the Board Members, as irresponsible and out of touch with reality. Intentionally or not, he interferes in the electoral process of the U.S. He also seems to ignore the fact that the friendly Albanian-American ties were established a long time ago and have been progressively strengthened, especially around the time of World War I, when President Woodrow Wilson saved Albania from further partitioning by the European Allies. The credit goes both ways: on one side, the reputation of Albanian Americans who showed love and loyalty to this Country and intensive lobbying, particularly by Bishop Fan Noli, Faik Konitza and others on behalf of Albania; on the other side, the spirit of democracy and compassion for the small nations and for human rights of the people of the United States. This has been a continuous pattern since its inception over a century ago and it will continue unabatedly for the foreseeable future.

In addition, Mr. Rama should know that the friendship of the United States towards Albania is bipartisan, as it has been demonstrated in the past and in recent times; and Albania is the one who enjoys a greater benefit from its relationship with the United States, not the other way around!

During the dreadful communist rule, the Albanian diaspora in America and elsewhere in the Free World, particularly VATRA, has been the true voice of the Albanian people and has maintained and strengthened friendly ties with the American people, as opposed to the official voice of the communist party that gave birth to the party that Mr. Rama chairs today.

We know that whoever wins the presidential election will maintain strong friendly ties with Albania. At the same time, we want to assure Mr. Trump and other candidates, that the Albanian people everywhere will remain friendly and pro-American as always, regardless of who occupies the White House.

Gara për Shtëpinë e Bardhë, Hillary Clinton dhe Donald Trump ne krye

Dy kandidatë të pazakontë, një republikan dhe një demokrat, dominojnë fazat e para të fushatës presidenciale amerikane. Është shumë shpejt për të parashikuar cilët do të jenë kandidatët përfundimtarë që do të përballen në zgjedhje. Por vëmendja që e rrethon biznesmenin Donald Trump dhe senatorin Bernie Sanders sinjalizon se votuesit amerikanë janë të lodhur nga gjendja aktuale e situatës politike.
Miliona amerikanë në anët e kundërta të spektrit politik kanë shprehur pakënaqësi me politikën e zakonshme. Dhe duket se ata mendojnë se pak nga kandidatët e mundshëm presidencialë mund të ofrojnë diçka ndryshe.
Manjati i pasurive të patundshme Donald Trump ka përdorur këtë pakënaqësi në avantazh të tij.

Gjatë takimeve që po realizon, Trump duket se po tërheq turma të mëdha njerëzish. Ndërkohë, ish guvernatori i Floridas Jeb Bush, në familjen e dy ish presidentëve amerikanë, konsiderohej si më favoriti kur filloi gara.

Sanders ka qënë kritik i hapur i kapitalizmit modern dhe thirrja e tij për një shpërndarje më të barabartë të të ardhurave rezonon me votuesit, por kritikët thonë se axhenda e tij socialiste nuk do ta ndihmojë të marr kandidaturën e partisë së tij.
Ish Zonja e Parë dhe Sekretare e Shtetit, Hillary Clinton, ende është në krye të anketave në garë.
“Ne do të punojmë drejt mundësive. Ne do ta bëjmë vendin tonë përsëri një vend ku nuk i kthen kurrizin askujt.”
Pavarësisht vëmendjes që tërheqin, as Trump dhe as Sanders nuk pritet të fitojnë kandidaturat e partive respektive për zgjedhjet 2016. Por analistët thonë se ata i kanë detyruar kandidatët e tjerë të trajtojnë çështje të debatueshme si imigracioni dhe hendeku në rritje mes të pasurve dhe të varfërve.(VOA)
