[12] PRESIDENT OF KOSOVA LEAVES FOR USA

PRISHTINE, AUG 12 (ATA) – The President of the Republic of Kosova, dr. Ibrahim Rugova, left Tuesday for Washington, invited by the U.S. State Secretary, Madeleine Albright.

During the stay in Washington, the President of Kosova is expected to meet with the number one of the U.S. diplomacy, Albright. There are also expected meetings with the special envoy of President Clinton in former Yugoslavia, Robert Gelbard, as well as with a number of other senior officials of the State Department.

The meeting Rugova-Albright, warned times ago, has raised interest, due to the main role of the United States for the solution of the crisis in former Yugoslavia and steps to be taken for the solution of the Kosova question.

The meeting held recently in Belgrade between the representatives of the Kosova Albanians and Richard Holbrooke served to this aim.

Diplomatic sources report that the visit of President Rugova in Washington “will be dominated by the proposals of the U.S. party.” Meanwhile officials from Pristina expects “this visit to mark the opening of a new phase in order to put an end to the Kosova drama.” /b.j/p.ta/kled/mt/k

[17] Serb police close storehouse with emergent aid in Prishtine

PRISHTINE, August 12 9ata) – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports that the storehouse with emergent aid in Prishtine was looted and closed today at noon by Serb police. The humanitarian aid of the Emergency Council were destined for the population at risk and displaced from the regions at war.

[02] U.S. Ambassador Hill in Prishtine: “We had good talks with Rugova”

PRISHTINE, August 12 (ata) – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports: “We had good talks with Rugova” said today in Prishtine the U.S. diplomat engaged with Kosove, Christopher Hill following closed-door negotiations for more than one and a half hour with the President of the Republic of Kosove, Ibrahim Rugova.

The U.S. diplomat, who came to the capital of Kosove from Skopje where he is holds the post of the U.S. Ambassador, gave no other details for the content of the talks with Rugova.

[03] Kosova with a new negotiating group and a full staff government

PRISHTINE, August 12 (ata) – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports: A new group for negotiations with Belgrade has been formed according to some sources in Kosove, but still there is no formal confirmation.

Members of the negotiating group are, according to the sources, the academician Fehmi Agani from the Democratic League of Kosove (LDK,) a close collaborator of the President of Kosove, dr. Ibrahim Rugova; Mehmet Hajrizi, secretary general of the Albanian Democratic League of the academician Rexhep Qosja; Bajram Kosumi, deputy chairman of the Parliamentary Party of Adem Demaci; Edita Tahiri and Fatmir Sejdiu from the LDK.

Still according to unofficial sources, referring to the Government of Kosove, a solution for the moment will be the restructuring of the present government of Bukoshi. /fh/das/xh/

[06] DLK to cooperate closely with political parties in Kosova – Rugova

PRISHTINE, August 12 (ata) – Ibrahim Rugova said on Wednesday that his party, the Democratic League of Kosova “will cooperate closely with all political parties in Kosova,” reports the ATA correspondent in Kosova.

According to Rugova, this cooperation will be in the spirit of tolerance and cooperation, by respecting the identity and interests of all the forces. “All together we will work in the interest of Kosova,” said Rugova in yesterday’s meeting of the LDK General Council.

The highest forum of the LDK has decided that Rugova and another representative of this party be members of the transitory council of Kosova, led by the U.N. administrator in Kosova, Bernard Kouchner.

Speaking of the future of his party, Rugova said that LDK will work for the installation and development of democratic institutions of Kosova.

“From a party in movement for freedom, independence and democracy, it will turn into a party that will contribute to the construction of a modern and democratic state of Kosova,” said the LDK leader, Ibrahim Rugova. /dast/xh/

[03] TWO SERBIAN POLICEMEN INJURED IN ATTACKS

PRISHTINE, AUGUST 5 (ATA) – By B. Jashari: Two Serbian policemen were injured in two attacks against the police on Monday night and early on Tuesday in Kosova. Though the suspected are still unknown, the Serbian media considered them “Albanian terrorists.”

Radio Prishtina in the Serbian language said that policemen travelling by car were injured by automatic rifles in the commune of Skenderaj. The same sources said that another police car was attacked on Monday night at about 19.00 p.m. in the commune of Podujeva. None was injured.

Check points were built in Skenderaj and Podujeva under the pretext of chasing “terrorists” and police forces are terrorising Albanians. A tense situation is created in the two communes with police arrested and maltreated people. pta/a

[02] Seven Albanians killed in commune of Gjakova

PRISHTINE, Aug 5 – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reported that in Gjakova area the Serb forces have killed seven Albanian civilians four old men, 2 old women and a 50-year-old man.

Five persons were also killed on Tuesday in Jabllanice village and one in Krelan. While another was found dead somewhere in the villages of Meje and Madanaj, sources of the Democratic League of Kosova (LDK) said.

Meanwhile the Serb forces continue to terrorize the civilian population and raid and torch houses of Albanians in the border line between Kosova and Albania. Fighting has continued on Wednesday in other areas of Gjakova. The Kosova Liberation Army (KLA) is doing the utmost to defend and help the civil population displaced from shelled and torched villages. la/ak/

kishin njoftuar te henen se rruga ne kete drejtim eshte hapur.
Ne zonat pergjate kesaj rruge, ne Gryken e Llapushnikut, vazhdon zjarri qe ka mbuluar shtepite e shqiptareve, si dhe perqendrimi i madh i forcave ushtarako-policore dhe paraushtarake serbe.

[09] Prishtine-Peje, Prishtine-Prizren highways remain closed

PRISHTINE, July 28 – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reported that fighting in Kosova continued in areas around Duhla Pass, the way heading for Malisheva from the Prishtina-Prizren highway, in the border line with Albania and in other regions in Dukagjin and Drenica.

No bus or other vehicle left Prishtina for Peja today though the Serbian media had informed on Monday that the way was opened. In areas along the road in Llapushnik Pass one can see houses of Albanians in flames and military-police Serb reinforcement.

The Prishtine-Prizren and Mitrovice-Peje highways were closed due to fighting.

Firefight between Albanian and Serbian forces started later on Monday in Nerodine e Eperme and Poshtme villages and in Ferrizaj area. Residents who fled these villages said that heavy fighting are going on and that units of Serb armed civilians are sent in to fight against Albanians. pta/pas/ak/

[12] Ambassador Hill fails to go to Malisheve besieged by Serb forces

PRISHTINE, July 28 /ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports: The Melisheve region (some 50km southeast of Prishtine), surrounded by the Serb forces, is living under the fear of attacks and massacres.

The situation is grave and, according to Albanian sources, Yugoslav military planes hev been hovering over the town and its suburbs today.

The sources say that the U.S. ambassador in Skopje, Christopher Hill, who left this morning for Malisheve, failed to reach the town as he was turned back at roadblocks set up by Serb forces.

The Serb forces overnight bombarded the villages around Malisheve- Mlecan, Bubavec and Carralluke, over which smoke and flames are still visible.

Sources from the Kosova Information Centre (KIC) say that many inhabitants are fleeing the said villages along with thousands of others settled there after the massacres in Rahovec.

“If the Serb forces attack Malisheve, a real tragedy is likely to take place here,” said a LDK activist from Malisheve. /p.ta/das/lm/

[15] Dramatic situation in Junik and Malisheve -Serb forces shoot dead 20 Albanians of one family

PRISHTINE, July 28 /ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports:

The situation in Junik and its suburbs is dramatic. Twenty Albanians, mostly children, members of one family in Junik, the major village of Kosova bordering Albania, were barbarously killed today by the Serb forces.

The macabre crime occurred in the suburbs of Junik while the family was fleeing the village to escape the attacks by Serb military, police and paramilitary forces.

Albanian sources say that the family peacefully surrendered, but the Serb forces, considering no war rule, opened fire at the civilians.

The fighting which has been going on for three days around Junik has also killed an Albanian fighter and injured 15. Junik and the other surrounding villages are being attacked from three strategic directions by many Serb military and police forces, infantry, artillery and motorised forces.

The Serb heavy artillery is constantly shelling Junik and its suburbs from the military positions in Podi i Geshtenjave, Cuke e Baballocit, in Cuke, in Bitef, Ponoshjec and in Kodra e Qabrait of Gjakova.

The medical centre in Junik in which were hospitalised the 15 injured Albanians was also pounded today.

The Serb heavy artillery is also attacking other villages of Decan country, Shaptejn, Gramacel, Irzniq, Prejlepin and Kodralin.

Heavy fighting is also taking place in Strello i Eperme, Carrabreg i Poshtem and in Lebushe, where two Serb policemen have bee killed. Many houses are engulfed by fires.

Gjakova, too, has been the target of Serb snipers positioned at strategic points of the city’s high buildings for 24 hours and on.

The city and its suburbs have been under constant terror and are running out of food and medicines because of the Serb forces’ complete blockade.

A great massacre is threatening Malisheve today. At 17:30, according to reports, the Serb forces were one km near Melisheve and on their way they are shelling and setting Albanian villages on fire. There is a large displacement on the part of the population, which are surrounded on all sides by the Serb police, military and paramilitary forces. /r.xh/das/lm/

PRISHTINË, 23 Korrik 2016-Gazeta DIELLI-Behlul JASHARI/ Kam raportuar se, “organet e pushtetit okupues serb në Prizren, më 22 korrik 1998, në varrezat e këtij qyteti hapën dy gropa të mëdha dhe groposën shumë shqiptarë të vrarë gjatë ofensivës në Rahovec”, dhe në 22 korrik 1998 raportoja që në titull: Shqiptarët e vrarë janë varrosur në dy varreza masive. Në Rahovec nuk ishin identifikuar ende shumë të vrarë e të masakruar, që kanë mbetur nëpër rrugë, shtëpi, bodrume dhe fusha.

[05] Albanians killed in Rahovec burried in massive graves

PRISHTINE, July 23 – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reported that the Albanians killed recently by the Serb forces in Rahovec city were buried on Tuesday in two common graves, Prishtina press said on Thursday referring to eyewitnesses.

“Serb forces have dug up graves with excavators and buried the bodies collected in the roads of Rahovec almost an hour before the arrival of foreign journalists and diplomats in the city,” the same source said.

The Council for the protection of Human Rights and Liberties in Kosova said that Serb forces have killed over 50 Albanians but scores of killed and massacred people in roads, houses, underground and fields had not been identified yet.

Sources of the Democratic League of Kosova (LDK) in Rahovec believe that there are hundreds of civilians killed, massacred, burnt or injured.

[12] Continuous fighting and displacement of population in Kosova

PRISHTINE, July 23 /ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports:

Fighting in Kosova continued also over the last 24 hours along the border belt with Albania, in Dukagjin, Drenice and Rrafshi i Kosoves.

Displacement of the population in large proportions is taking place not only in many villages attacked and bombarded by the Serb forces but also in the cities.

Besides Decan, Rahovec, too, has been destroyed and emptied, while the population are being largely displaced from Peja, Skenderaj and other cities, also including the Kosova capital, Prishtine.

Today’s reports say that Serb forces’ attacks continue also in the villages of Pecan, Zllaushan and Reshtan of the Suhareke commune, the village of Gremnik of Kline and several other regions of Drenica, as well as in the village of Nerodime e Eperme of Ferizaj suburb.

In Peja the Serb police are maltreating many Albanian families, thus, because of blockades and raids by the Serbian forces the city of Gjakova is likely to remain without food. /das/lm/

shqiptaret e paidentifikuar, nderkohe qe numri i shqiptareve te

Sipas te njejtit burim forcat serbe kane hapur, te merkuren,

Sipas KMLDNJ forcat serbe kane vrare mbi 50 shqiptare,
nderkohe qe nuk jane identifikuar ende shume te vrare e te
masakruar, qe kane mbetur neper rruge, shtepi, bodrume dhe fusha.
Burime te LDK-se (Lidhjes Demokratike te Kosoves) ne Rahovec
besojne se jane qindra civile te vrare, te masakruar, te djegur
dhe te plagosur.
Shtypi i Kosoves dhe burime te tjera masakren e kryer nga
forcat serbe ne Rahoveci e krahasojne me Srebrenicen.

PRISHTINE, July 22 – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reported that the Council for the Human Rights and Liberties in Kosova (KLMDNJ) called on the international factor to intervene and stop further escalation of Serb massacres in Rahovec and other regions in Kosova.

“The red line we have defined has been violated brutally and changed into a river of blood of massacred Albanians by the Serb killers. We call on you to intervene immediately in order to prevent the repetition of Srebrenica in Rahovec. pta/das/ak/

[07] Over 120 civilians killed in Rahovec, press

PRISHTINE, July 22 – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reported that over 120 civilians have been killed in Rahovec and the number of victims would have been higher “but the KLA have managed to evacuate and save a great number of inhabitants,” the daily Koha Ditore said on Wednesday.

Referring to the sources on the ground, the paper quotes the commander of the KLA as saying that “Rahovec has not been defeated” and “liberation forces control 65 percent of the territory, including the suburbs.”

“Bosnia is being repeated in Kosova” and “Rahovec is turned into another Srebrenica” these are the main titles in today’s daily “Bujku” of Prishtina.

“Many Albanians were massacred, killed and burnt in Rahovec and suburbs. Children, women and men are being massacred everywhere they face Serb military-police or paramilitary and armed civilians,” the daily said. pta/das/ak/
