Nga data 23 qershor 2015, pesë botime në shqip i janë shtuar fondit të Librarisë së Kongresit në SHBA. Këtu përfshihen dy nga romanet kryesorë të shkrimëtarit të madh Dritëro Agolli, “Shkëlqimi dhë rënia e shokut Zylo” dhe “Arka e djallit”. Lexuesit shqiptarë dhe të huaj janë njohur tashmë me përmbajtjen e romanit “Shkëqimi dhë rënia e shokut Zylo”, si një kritikë marramendëse, shumë komike e burokracisë dhe dirigjimit intelektual, e priviligjeve dhe ofiqeve të pamerituara të socializmit. Botuar fillimisht në revistën “Hosteni” në vitin 1972, romani tronditi opinionin publik shqiptar dhe më gjerë, duke u bërë pjesë e letërsisë disidente që shprehte qartë pakënaqësinë ndaj sistemit monist. Libri është praqitur me një përmbledhje të shkurtër në anglisht. Vendosja e këtyre dy romaneve në fondin e Librarisë së Kongresit është dhe urimi më i mirë që i bëjmë këtij shkrimëtari të madh me rastin e 84 vjetorit të lindjes!

“The brilliance and the failure of Zylo friend”, with a clear title, tells the victory and the fall in Tirana of Zylo Kamberi, senior civil servant, the director of a section of the cultural matters. It is a staggering critique, very comic of the bureaucracy, of the intellectual direction, of the privileges of the socialism and of the harsh used language. Published in magazine in 1972 year, a year later as a volume, also republished in 1981, “The brilliance and the fall of Zylo friend” forces us see again some of our ideas related with the freedom which Albania of Enver Hoxha let a novelist. A perfectly mysterious country! The more so, because after the characters of the novel, officials, bureaucrats, critics (and their spouses, fat or obedient), the readers warned surely could know real personalities. To accept that these mocker caricatures were real portraits, this increases even more our wonder. Imitating a famous formula. Agolli, is Kafka, with a little more sun. The Ministry of Culture, the directorships, the commissions, its meetings, make the decorum almost abstract of a buffoon satire. Zylo is a tartarin of dialectics, a small leather pouch filled with words, a cocky grandiloquent, hypocrite, maybe honest, but a uncorrectable idiot. The wonder is very great; anyway there is no harsher critique of the organizing in the countries of Orient than in this book, where the works of the power are taken apart with a kind of savageness, softened so-so by humor feeling, which approaches the characters to us, which transforms them into manipulated puppets from a system which is so “perfected” so that it can’t leave them a big action freedom…
Gjithashtu në fondin e Librarisë u shtuan dhe tre libra të tjerë në fushën e detarisë shqiptare, “Antologjia e detarisë Shqiptare”, Vëllimi i parë, “Antologji e Detarisë Shqiptare”, vëllimi i dytë dhe i tretë, me autor Shefqet Kërcelli, dhe “Fjalori i Terminologjisë Detare”, me bashkëautorë.
The anthology contains several chapters according to the main historical stages of the Albanian people: Pre-Illyrian period, Illyrian, Byzantine, Ottoman, the invaders and the regimes of the XX century. According to this chronological ranking are treated extensively themes like: the development of naval tools and tradition, of naval trade and transport, the weight of the sailors and our state in this trade, the relations with the other forces in the naval space, the contribution for independence, main characters, captains, sailors, etc. The declaration of the independence on the 28th of November 1912 and the creation of the Albanian state is understood, they created new sailing conditions and courses, that’s why the Albanian seamanship in these 100 years takes the main place.
The book is based on authentic documentary base, thanks to the will and the insistence to collect and to search for every document inside or outside of the country. The rich documentation makes it very convincing and realistic. It inserts the reader into the flow of the events in the Adriatic and Ionian seas, for more than 3 thousand years, it brings arguments, it spreads thesis and analysis who enforce the fact that the Albanian people has an outstanding naval tradition since the antiquity. The book has special values in the open narrating of many documents, witnesses, photos, historical truths, which our opinion at the 80% mass knows them for the first time. It brings the deep changes, the development that the naval tools had, their technique and technology dependent on their economical development, the tradition, the profession of the sailor, the ways of orientation, the benefit from the experience of other countries, the cooperation, the naval transport and the trade inside or outside of the country, based on the statistics of native and foreign naval institutions…
Me këtë rast zonja Debra Graham, Librare në Seksionin e Monografisë në këtë Librari, nëpërmjet një letre drejtuar vajzës sime te vogël, e cila i dhuroi këto libra në emër të autorëve, na falenderon për pasurimin e fondit të Library of Congress me këto pesë botime në shqip. Por ajo që dua të theksoj është se studjuesit, shkrimtarët, historianët, shkencëtarët, poetët shqiptarë duhet të kenë si objektiv kryesor, krijimin gradual të koleksionit ose fondit iliro-shqiptar në bibliotekën e Kongresit Amerikan. Le të jenë këto botime dhe mjaft të tjera të dhuruara më parë, si gurë themeli në krijimin e këtij fondi, ku amerikanë, shqiptarë dhe të huaj mund të njihen gjerësisht me historinë, kulturën dhe letërsinë e kombit iliro-shqiptar. Le të harxhojnë me shumë energji për këto punë kritikët shqiptarë?!
