Albanian American Society Foundation and Son & Daughters of Albanian American in conjunction with Monroe College cordially held a lecture by world famous Professor Jusuf Buxhovi on February 23, 2014 at 3;00 p.m. at Monroe College’s King Hall. Former New York State Assemblyman and 21 year member of the Board of Directors of the Albanian – American Society Foundation Stephen B. Kaufman emceeing the event, and AASF President Esad A. Rizai and Vice- President Haxhi Berisha introducing Prof Buxhovi.
Prof. Buxhovi is the foremost historian on Kosova, and will be proudly presenting for the first time in English his renowned three part “Kosova Series.” The “Kosova Series” spell out the entire history of Kosoav, from its early history in : “Part 2: The Ottoman Empire” and finally Kosova’s emergence on the world stage in :”Part 3: from Occupation to International Protectorat.”
In the late 1980’s, Prof Buxhovi co founded the Democratic League of Kosova, the first opposition party in Kosova that helped lead and advocate for peaceful resistance against the Serbian occupation. Prof. Buxhovi has written scores of fiction and non fiction titles , including prize winning novellas, drams, literary critique, political commentaries and history book.
