Primordial Passion by renowned Albanian jewelry artist Spiro Ruco is presented at the Grand Prix D’Horlogerie de Genève at the end of July. The one piece limited series is “the first high-end home-made Albanian hand watch,” according to the press release issued by the Fondation du Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.
The statement says that the masterpiece features twelve Albanian folk dancers figurines, representing twelve regions, that mark the hours on the dial. Each micro figurine is up to 10 mm in height. The engravings are uniquely detailed to feature respective regional embroidery and specific distinctions in their costumes.
“Thanks to the cooperation with Agenhor and the state of the art Swiss technological advancement, its central fix movement enabled the assembling by incorporating four instrumentalists and the signature elements of the brand, namely the eagle and the Pirro logo. Another notable characteristic is the bicolor hour hands in the shape of eagle claws, indicating the hours and minutes.”
The manual winding mechanical design and execution took five years to complete.
Its dial “consists of a micro-mosaic in red black gradient of 1,500 Murano stones in eight different colors and 64 cuts, the smallest measuring only 0.2mm.”
