[12] PRESIDENT OF KOSOVA LEAVES FOR USA
PRISHTINE, AUG 12 (ATA) – The President of the Republic of Kosova, dr. Ibrahim Rugova, left Tuesday for Washington, invited by the U.S. State Secretary, Madeleine Albright.
During the stay in Washington, the President of Kosova is expected to meet with the number one of the U.S. diplomacy, Albright. There are also expected meetings with the special envoy of President Clinton in former Yugoslavia, Robert Gelbard, as well as with a number of other senior officials of the State Department.
The meeting Rugova-Albright, warned times ago, has raised interest, due to the main role of the United States for the solution of the crisis in former Yugoslavia and steps to be taken for the solution of the Kosova question.
The meeting held recently in Belgrade between the representatives of the Kosova Albanians and Richard Holbrooke served to this aim.

PRISHTINE, August 12 9ata) – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports that the storehouse with emergent aid in Prishtine was looted and closed today at noon by Serb police. The humanitarian aid of the Emergency Council were destined for the population at risk and displaced from the regions at war.

PRISHTINE, August 12 (ata) – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports: “We had good talks with Rugova” said today in Prishtine the U.S. diplomat engaged with Kosove, Christopher Hill following closed-door negotiations for more than one and a half hour with the President of the Republic of Kosove, Ibrahim Rugova.
The U.S. diplomat, who came to the capital of Kosove from Skopje where he is holds the post of the U.S. Ambassador, gave no other details for the content of the talks with Rugova.

[03] Kosova with a new negotiating group and a full staff government
PRISHTINE, August 12 (ata) – ATA correspondent Behlul Jashari reports: A new group for negotiations with Belgrade has been formed according to some sources in Kosove, but still there is no formal confirmation.
Members of the negotiating group are, according to the sources, the academician Fehmi Agani from the Democratic League of Kosove (LDK,) a close collaborator of the President of Kosove, dr. Ibrahim Rugova; Mehmet Hajrizi, secretary general of the Albanian Democratic League of the academician Rexhep Qosja; Bajram Kosumi, deputy chairman of the Parliamentary Party of Adem Demaci; Edita Tahiri and Fatmir Sejdiu from the LDK.
Still according to unofficial sources, referring to the Government of Kosove, a solution for the moment will be the restructuring of the present government of Bukoshi. /fh/das/xh/

[06] DLK to cooperate closely with political parties in Kosova – Rugova
PRISHTINE, August 12 (ata) – Ibrahim Rugova said on Wednesday that his party, the Democratic League of Kosova “will cooperate closely with all political parties in Kosova,” reports the ATA correspondent in Kosova.
According to Rugova, this cooperation will be in the spirit of tolerance and cooperation, by respecting the identity and interests of all the forces. “All together we will work in the interest of Kosova,” said Rugova in yesterday’s meeting of the LDK General Council.
The highest forum of the LDK has decided that Rugova and another representative of this party be members of the transitory council of Kosova, led by the U.N. administrator in Kosova, Bernard Kouchner.
Speaking of the future of his party, Rugova said that LDK will work for the installation and development of democratic institutions of Kosova.
“From a party in movement for freedom, independence and democracy, it will turn into a party that will contribute to the construction of a modern and democratic state of Kosova,” said the LDK leader, Ibrahim Rugova. /dast/xh/
