Greta and Vilma Zenelaj launch Youtube channel “Greta & Vilma Show”

The talented filmmakers and founders of Colored Films in Los Angeles have recently launched a youtube channel, which features Greta & Vilma Show, and series about filmmaking tips and advice. In the following interview Greta and Vilma Zenelaj talk about their new show, and their upcoming movie “Shqipe/Eagle”.

 What is Greta and Vilma Channel about?

 Greta Zenelaj: We have seen several successful stories on YouTube and how many have achieved recognition for their talent. In October 2016 we wanted to put our hands on a project that kept us busy every week. That’s how the idea of starting our own YouTube channel came about.

We started with Greta & Vilma Show which has four episodes but the channel itself will have more than the show. Since we have experience in filmmaking, YouTube allows us to share our experiences with others that want to learn about certain things, in this case filmmaking and hopefully help passionate artists about dos and don’ts while filming.

Every week we are posting episodes so many can follow us through the YouTube Channel. Simply search us under youtube.com Greta & Vilma and then subscribe to the channel to be notified when to view the new episodes.

 What shows are you currently working on?

 Vilma Zenelaj: As we previously mentioned right now we are working on a long series that will explain in detail how to make a film from an idea/story to the big screen. Having had experience for over 8 years in filmmaking and being part of the festival circle we have tremendous insight that we feel blessed to share and help others.

So everyone that subscribes to our channel will also receive free downloads (booklets) on what we will be covering on a certain episode. Be sure to keep looking for the filmmaking series that is coming in a couple of weeks.

 Who are the people behind the Greta and Vilma show?

 Greta Zenelaj: Honestly it’s just Vilma and I at this time. For the Greta and Vilma Show we had a small but very talented crew that helped us with camera, hair & make up, editing and a wonderful studio that fit our needs perfectly.

 What is the significance of doing the show? What inspired the Greta and Vilma Show?

 Vilma Zenelaj: Well, we wanted to start with something fun at the beginning of our channel. That’s why we have four episodes that have pretty important topics and are important subjects to us. We discuss about Love, Lying, success and family. These four topics are important together and have been the core of our life. Love that comes from God, Lying is a big NO, honesty is always the best policy, success should be shared with others and family is important since we are sisters and come from the same family.

 How do you choose the topics for each episode?

 Greta Zenelaj: Well, I think Vilma did a good job at summing it up on the previous question. Topics came from what we have known and experience. It’s easier to talk about what you know and are familiar with. The YouTube Channel will give us a great opportunity to share other topics and even small stuff that can benefit others. For example we have this great mask that we make with yogurt and yeast.

We want to make an episode of that because it has really made our skin better. So the YouTube Channel will empowers us to make creative enjoyable videos that will benefit our views and subscribers.

 What was the first movie you wrote and directed?

 Vilma Zenelaj: I wrote ‘What Do I Do Now?’ I’ve written ‘In the Woods’ and ‘Eagle/Shqipe’. Last year (2016) we wrote a beautiful true story about faith. We plan to direct the film together. I can’t wait since it’s going to be amazing to have Greta in the director’s chair and collaborating creatively.

 What else have you been working on?

 Greta Zenelaj: The YouTube Channel is keeping us pretty busy and so we still are working on Eagle/Shqipe and as Vilma mentioned the faith based true story, which is a very exciting script.

 You have directed and produced award-winning movies. As a director, how do you approach each show? What is the process like?

 Vilma Zenelaj: I have to feel connected to the story or relate to it in some level. If I know the story and I feel passionate about it, it’s easier to tell that story through the camera lenses. Storytelling has its formula and there are steps in telling a great story. That’s why it’s so important for many to subscribe to our channel to learn more about filmmaking.

 How did you first get involved in acting? Which one has been your favorite project so far?

 Greta Zenelaj: Eagle/Shqipe has been my favorite film to work on since it’s very personal, things that I have experience as a student in Albania and as an immigrant in US. I relate to this film very well. It’s going to be a huge success on the big screen.

 What is next for you?

 Greta Zenelaj:  We are looking forward to what the YouTube channel will offer us. Right now, the sky is the limit and it’s great to be in this position.

Vildan Maksuti është aktor, model, skenarist dhe regjizor i dramave teatrale. Vildan Maksuti është aktor i njohur nga Kumanova që jeton dhe vepron në Belgjikë. Edhe pse tepër i ri, ai ka një karrierë dhe jetë të pasur artistike dhe është një ndër artistët me famë që ka prekur skenat europiane përkrah emrave të njohur të artit.
Nëpërmjet karrierës së tij artistike dhe humanitare Vildan Maksuti ka shërbyer si ambasador i kulturës dhe vlerave shqiptare në Europë. Ai krenohet të përcjellë vlerat e kombit shqiptar në mbarë botën.
“Jam krenar që jam shqiptar nga Maqedonia. Nëpërmjet artit dhe kulturës mund të përcjell vlerat e kombit tim në mbarë botën. Nëna ime gjithmonë më ka folur në shqip edhe pse kemi shumë vite në Belgjikë dhe në shtëpi akoma flasim në gjuhën shqipe. I jam mirënjohës shtetit të Belgjikës që na priti me krahë hapur dhe na ka mirëpritur si vendas. Bashkë me motrën time, Xhen Maksuti patëm mundësinë të bashkëpunojmë Belgjikë-Maqedoni për projektin e mirënjohur edukativo-kulturor të BE-së “Erasmus +”, i cili i dha mundësi shkollave shqipe të jenë pjesë e programeve europiane,” tha Vildan Maksuti.
Vildan Maksuti për herë të parë doli para kamerës në Europë në vitin 2005 për reklamën e Interpolis Glashelder (Hollandë), e cila u shfaq në National Geographic.
Karriera e tij prej aktori profesionist nisi menjëherë pas diplomimit nga Akademia e Arteve në Bruzh, Belgjikë (L’Academie des Beux Arts) në 2008 me sukses të shkëlqyer si student i dalluar. Profesorët e Vildanit gjithmonë kanë folur për të si një aktor të talentuar dhe me perspektivë. Fillimisht ai mer pjesë në shfaqe teatrale organizuar nga Akademia e Arteve në Belgjikë.
“Dua ta sfidoj veten duke provuar role të ndryshme si në aksion, komedi, dramë ose film romantik. Aktrimi është pasioni im që nisi kur isha vetëm 6 vjeç kur babi më çoi për herë të parë në një shfaqe teatrale në Kumanovë. Dhe aty u dashurova me artin dhe aktrimin,” tha aktori Vildan Maksuti.
Vildan Maksuti e nisi karrierën e tij të aktrimit në moshën 16 vjeçare me produksionin e famshëm amerikan Bigfoot Entertainment me filmin “The Curiosity of Chance” (Kurioziteti i Shansit). Me regjizor Russell P. Marleau, Nominuar për çmimin prestigjioz Emmy. Filmi fitoi 4 çmime si “Filmi më i mirë” dhe “Regjizori më i mirë” në festivale ndërkombëtare.
Aktori Vildan Maksuti paraqitet edhe në serialin e famshëm televiziv “The White Queen” (Mbretëresha e Bardhë) me aktor kryesor yllin anglez Max Irons. Me produksion të BBC, kjo dramë historike është nominuar me 3 Golden Globes, Emmy dhe ‘People’s Choice Awards’.
Në 2013 Vildan Maksuti kreu studimet për aktrim tek Fakulteti i Arteve Dramatike në Shkup, Maqedoni nën kujdesit e profesorit Vladimir Milcin.
Vildan Maksuti është një yll filmi ku shtypi ndërkombëtar shkruan për suksesin e tij në Evropë. Vildani ka luajtur një rol të shkurtër në filmin e njohur “Dossier K” me regjizor Jan Verheyen, produksion i Eyeworks.
Më pas Vildani paraqitet në serialin e famshëm 20-vjeçar belg “Familie” (regjia Guy Thys dhe JP Van Steertegem, 2010). Vildani luan rolin “Ksander”, një djalosh 20 vjeçar që futet në botën e krimit. Ndërsa në serialin tjetër famoz “Vermist” (regji Jan Verheyen, Eyworks, 2011) Vildan Maksuti luan rolin e “Martin” në këtë dramë aksion me polici.
Vildan Maksuti luan rolin kryesor në filmin “Blue Rorschach” (regji Charles Bockaert, 2013). Ky film është një dramë, që tregon problemet familjare mes dy vëllezërve. Vildani luan rolin e një nga vëllezërve “Niko”.
Në serialin “Verboden Liefde” (regji Wendi Montellano, 2014) Vildan Maksuti luan rolin kryesor “Gio”, një djalë Italian që dashurohet me një vajzë belge dhe duhet të fitojë zemrën e saj.
Në serialin e famshëm belg “De Ridder” (regji Eric Taelman, 2016) Vildan Maksuti luan rolin kryesor në sezonin 4 në rolin e “Artan Malaj”. “De Ridder” është një dramë aksion me investigime policore. Në këtë film mamaja e Vildan Maksutit, Ramize Maksuti, shfaqet në rolin e “Mamasë”. Vildan dhe Ramize Maksuti ishin dy yjet e ftuara në tapetin e kuq të festivalit të filmit në Belgjikë “Film Festival Oostende”.
“Në serialin De Ridder ku luaj rolin kryesor kemi filmuar për 3 muaj në Belgjikë. Kjo dramë aksion nga produksioni Eyeworks është mjaft interesante sepse ndryshe nga serialet e para, në këtë sezon storja është në vazhdimësi. Unë luaj rolin e një djali shqiptar Artan Malaj, tepër inteligjent por që fajësohet për krime që ai nuk i ka bërë. Dhe e vërteta nxirret në pah,” rrëfen Vildan Maksuti.
Vildan Maksuti është regjizor i shfaqes teatrale “Të Mos Bëhet Vonë” (2013) një dramë komedi që u performua në shumë qytete në Maqedoni. Në bashkëpunim me Departamentin e Policisë së Kumanovës dhe Teatrin Kombëtar të Kumanovës ky produksion teatral pati për qëllim rritjen e ndërgjegjësimit kundra dhunës në familje, si dhe të fuqizojë vazjat, femrat dhe fëmijët të denoncojnë dhunën. Gjithashtu është regjizor i shfaqes teatrale “24 Lies In a Dream” në Belgjikë.
Në 2014 Vildan Maksuti u zgjodh si aktori kryesor në videoklipin e famshëm “Light It Up” (me 4.5 milion shikime ne Youtube) të Dj. Antoine, i cili ka bashëpunuar me yjet e muzikës si JLO, Akon, Mark Anthony, Pitbull, etj.
Në 2016 Vildan Maksuti u ftua si një nga Vipat në Albanian Fashion Week në New York që do zhvillohet me 25-30 mars në Manhattan. Vildani do jetë një nga yjet e Tapetit të Kuq në natën e madhe të Albanian Fashion Show që do zhvillohet me 27 Mars 2016. Java e Modës Shqiptare në New York është organizuar nga Mrika Krasniqi, themeluese e Agjencisë së Modës Shqiptare në New York dhe Nil Production.
“Jam shumë i lumtur që karriera ime po mer një drejtim të ri me udhëtimin në New York. Kam shkruar disa skenare dhe dëshiroj së shpejti të sjell filmat e mi për publikun. Falenderoj Mrika Krasniqin për ftesën në eventin madhështor Albanian Fashion Week NY. Do jetë një natë e paharruar me modën më të mirë shqiptare dhe të huaj,” tregon modeli, aktori dhe skenaristi Vildan Maksuti.
Gjithashtu Vildan Maksuti do jetë pjesë e videoklipit të Mbretit të muzikës Pop Rock, Matteo Brento, për këngën #21 (Goodbye My Love) / (Lamtumirë Dashuria Ime). Ylli i X-Factor Albania Matteo Brento do xhirojë videoklipin në New York, ku Vildan Maksuti do jetë një nga aktorët që do shfaqet në këtë videoklip.

Kënga është pëlqyer dhe po flitet edhe për mundësinë e një filmi me metrazh të shkurtër inspiruar nga kënga, me producent dhe skenarist Julian Biba. Koncepti i videoklipit është krijuar nga Julian Biba dhe kënga i dedikohet lirisë, dhe të gjithë herojve që luftojnë për të mbrojtuar liritë dhe të drejtat tona.

New York – NGO Arta and Albanian Fashion Agency (AFA) announced their support for women survivors of unwanted physical contact during the 1998-99 war in Kosovo. Albanian Fashion Show taking place on Sunday, 27 March 2016 (4:00-9:00pm) will showcase works of women survivors. Proceeds and donation will go women in need.

“NGO Arta” has been working for years to support, advocate and promote rights of women in Kosovo, regardless of nationality, sexual orientation, race, educational level, and physical capability. “NGO Arta” together with Albanian Fashion Agency for the first time in history is making possible to bring these products that were made from women survivors from Kosovo war. We are helping these very talented and creative women gain independence and financial freedom by encouraging them get back up on their feet,” said HafijeQyqalla, Founder and CEO of NGO Arta (OJQ Arta).

As part of Albanian Fashion Week taking place in 25-30 March 2016, Albanian Fashion Agency (AFA) who is organizing this grand cultural event, is collaborating with “NGO ARTA” to do a fundraiser. For the first time in New York, there will be an exhibition of the creative work done by the survivors themselves. All accepted donations will go to a special fund to help women in Kosovo.

Specifically, the fund and the raised money from the cultural event and the exhibit will go towards: single mothers in need, help with clothing and food for winter, education for their children and social and economic opportunities for women survivors.

“Albanian Fashion Agency is very happy to support nonprofit organization from Kosova “OJQ Arta” which is going to bring the hand made products that are made from women who were raped in war during 1998-1999. These products are going to be shown during Albanian Fashion Show. All funds and donations will be used to aid those women that need our help the most,” said MrikaKrasniqi, Founder and CEO of AFA (Albanian Fashion Agency).

“OJQ Arta” was founded in 2005 by Mrs. HafijeQyqalla to advocate for the right and needs of women. “NGO ARTA” operates as a non-governmental organization since 1993 in Kosovo. In 2014 & 2015 NGO Arta organized anti-violence campaigns to raise awareness about the injustices imposed toward women. In collaboration with Albanian Fashion Agency, NGO Arta hopes to bring financial freedom for the women survivors.
