My name is Erika Zamora, and I am a board member for Ascend Educational Fund (www.ascendfundny.org) a nonprofit that provides scholarships to high schools seniors of immigrant backgrounds in New York City regardless of national origin, ethnicity and immigration status. In May 2015 we awarded $63,000 to 10 outstanding students. We are reaching out to you as a high school college advisor/counselor to announce the AEF scholarship to students at your high school.
AEF will provide two-year or four-year college scholarships to promising immigrant students in New York City, who were either born outside the US or have two parents born outside the U.S., in the range of $2,500-$20,000. We will begin accepting scholarship applications online on December 1, 2015, and the deadline is January 30, 2016. Attached please find a flyer with the scholarship info and deadlines for your use.
Our ability to connect with as many high schools will be key in helping these students achieve their full potential through higher education. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me. Feel free to forward this email or my contact information to other high school college advisors/counselors.
