James Wm. Pandeli passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida at the age of 73. He has been a resident of Florida for 28 years. Jim was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on August 26, 1944 son of Anna (Dimitri) and William Pani.
Prior to serving in the United States Army during the VietNam War, Jim received his Bachelor of Economics from the University of Connecticut. After his Army service he received his Juris Doctorate Degree from the California College of Law. Jim was a published writer and a freelance essay writer. He always had a thirst for knowledge and provided another perspective to historians. His writings were of history, especially on the country and people of Albania and territorial region. His grandparents and father immigrated to the United States from Albania in the early 1900’s. Later becoming U. S. Citizens.’
Jim always had a kind word for everyone and ready to lend a helping hand whenever needed. He loved tinkering with his cars over the years. When he was younger, he played baseball, later playing soccer in college.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Lombardi) and their son, Daniel. He is preceded by his parents and father, George Slider, niece Lisa Mallozzi and a great-nephew, Nico Mallozzi, of New Canaan, CT. He is survived by his brother George Slider (Helen Rotas) of Wayne, NJ, sisters Toni Mallozzi (Otto) of New Canaan, CT and Chrys in Ft. Lauderdale. Also survived by many, many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.
Viewing will be held at Broward Burial, 1801 East Oakland Park Blvd., Ft. Lauderdale, on Saturday, January 27, 2018, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A military burial with honors will be held at a later date at the South Florida Veterans Administration Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
