Muhamer ” Mike ” Kulla passed away

Muhamer “Mike” Kulla

Beloved Husband, Father, Brother & Grandfather

Mr. Muhamer “Mike” Kulla, 82, of Waterbury passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at his home in the warmth of his loving family. He was the husband of Pauline (Schedler) Kulla.

Mike was born in Zemblak, Albania on April 2, 1931, son of the late Belul and Fatime (Bablusha) Kulla. He was a diligent, hard-working Foreman at Leverty & Hurley Company for 22 years, after which he did maintenance for Waterbury hospital and began Mike’s Lawn Care in Waterbury, which he owned and operated. He enjoyed spending afternoons tending his garden and cherished his time spent among his family and his three beloved grandchildren. Mike had a strong will and fought a long, courageous battle against cancer for many years with the help and support of his family behind him, he will be dearly missed.

Besides his wife Pauline of 59 years, he leaves two sons, Michael J. Kulla and Mark Kulla both of Waterbury; two daughters, Maryann Plourde and her husband James of Prospect and Melinda Owens and her husband James of Waterbury; three brothers, Sami Kulla and his wife Ikbal of Watertown, Vedat Kulla and his wife Vera of Middlebury and Neshet Kulla and his wife Nezaqet of Waterbury; three grandchildren, Angela Plourde, Michael Plourde and Erica P. Kulla; a brother-in-law Herman Schedler of Germany; a sister-in-law Johanna Hoffman of Germany; an uncle, Nazmi Kulla of Canada, a former daughter-in-law, Brenda Kulla as well as numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Robert Kulla and his sister Mukadez Hana.

Mike’s Family would like to extend their gratitude and give a very special thanks to Dr. Dobkins, Dr. Gobbee, Dr. Sabbath, Dr. Ciampi, The staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, especially the St. Mary’s VITAS Unit and the staff at the Harold Leever Cancer Center for their great care shown to Mike in his time of need
