U.S. Ambassador to Kosovo Greg Delawie, USAID/Kosovo Mission Director James Hope and President of the Republic of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga today signed an amendment to the bilateral Development Objective Grant Agreement, signed between the two governments in December 2013.     The document outlines the U.S. Government commitment to provide $25 million in funds to support a broad range of U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) activities in Kosovo. The funds will be used for rule of law and governance activities, activities to increase investment and private sector employment, and programs to enhance human capital in Kosovo.

“Much as been accomplished.  However, important work lies ahead to achieve our joint goals.  In particular, Kosovo must intensify efforts to combat corruption so that barriers are removed to economic growth and citizen confidence in democratic institutions is enhanced, “said Ambassador Delawie. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) provides economic and humanitarian assistance worldwide for over 50 years.

Qeveria e SHBA vazhdon ta ndihmojë Kosovën përmes USAID-it

 PRISHTINË, 21 Shtator 2015/ Presidentja e Republikës së Kosovës, Atifete Jahjaga, Ambasadori i SHBA në Kosovë, Greg Delawie, dhe Drejtori i Agjencisë së Shteteve të Bashkuara për Zhvillim Ndërkombëtar (USAID) në Kosovë, James Hope, nënshkruan sot marrëveshjen mbi grantin e objektivave zhvillimore midis SHBA dhe Republikës së Kosovës. Dokumenti përfshin një ndihmë të Qeverisë së SHBA, në vlerë prej 25 milionë dollarë, për të mbështetur aktivitetet e USAID në Kosovë, të orientuara në tri fusha: sundimi i ligjit dhe qeverisjes, aktivitetet për rritjen e investimeve dhe punësimin në sektorin privat, si dhe programet për përmirësimin e kapitalit njerëzor në Kosovë.  Presidentja e Republikës së Kosovës, Atifete Jahjaga e quajti shumë të rëndësishme përkrahjen e Qeverisë së SHBA-së nëpërmjet USAID-it, si një dëshmi për përkrahjen e  vazhdueshme të SHBA për zhvillimin e Republikës së Kosovës në fushën e sundimit të ligjit dhe të ekonomisë./b.j/
